TESC BSBA: Can I/Should I?

Okay. I'm already trying to get a BA in History (or, failing that, Liberal Arts) from TESC. I recently got the idea of trying for a BSBA as well. I can easily take care of the non-Business-related requirements.
I already have: Statistics, Business Law, Finance and Banking, and Accounting 101.
I'm planning to take the DSST Organizational Behavior and get Organizational Communications from my USAF Squadron Officer School. That leaves:
Pre-Cal or Quantitative Business Analysis (I can get precal via straighterline)
    Principles of Finance: DSST
    Business in Society/International Management: ?
    Business Policy: Automatic TESC
    Marketing: CLEP
Financial Accounting: Would accounting 101 do?
    Management: CLEP
    Managerial accounting: Straighterline
I'd also need 12 units in my core program (Organizational Behavior and Finance and Banking cover 6), and nine units of electives.
Do you think it would be a good idea for me? (My desired career goal is to be a librarian. A business degree may help, but it won't do as much for a regular librarian.) About how long do you think it would take? How much would involve actually taking TESC classes?

Seriously consider doing this. I would consider doing the general BSBA since it allows more test out options.
I have a BSBA CIS from TESC and am very happy and proud of it.

TESC will accept Straighterline ACC 1 and 2 for financial and managerial accounting. SL managerial accounting is a business elective.
Business in society is covered by DSST Business Ethics and Society
    Business Policy is a TECEP
Finance is DSST or Penn Foster (check on this, I did PF but they might have lost ACE recommendation, check ACE site)
I have taken 9 credits of TESC classes and they are cool, but do the tests for anything you can. I took computer architecture and environmental science. Tests were proctored thorugh ProctorU.com and one midterm was paper based.

That makes it look a lot easier! Now that I know there are more exams I can take, I can get there sooner!

PM me if you need help and check out the other site, degreeforum.net.
This site is sort of a sister site to that one, but this one is better for graduate degree seekers IMHO.

Hi ryoder - I am also planning for BSBA CIS from TESC. Can you please share your degree plan please?

I'm not fully done with my plan, but I plan to take a lot of DSST and CLEP exams that I haven't taken yet for credit.
Would COM 210 (Public Relations) and COM 402 (Interviewing) count as Business electives? (I'd love to take those (or PLA the latter), even if they don't...)

This is a great site but another similar site is more suited to answering these questions about TESC course equivalencies.
Here is a link to a PDF that shows what equals what at TESC.

My guess is that those COM courses are for communications and not biz electives but I have no idea. Only the registrar would know for sure.

If your goal is to be a librarian, you might want to consider a dual BA and BSBA. If that is the case, you will need to graduate with one first, have it conferred, and then take classes toward the second.
The time it takes to do this could be spent working on a masters in library science or something like that. I do believe in the BSBA as a useful degree for most adults, but its not getting you closer to being a librarian. I think they require masters degrees.

Well, right now, my job doesn't pay enough to go for a master's, so I may try for work as a library technician. (I may also take some of those courses, if I can. I already have the basic course thanks to the USDA grad school.)
I'll just have to ask if the COM courses can be electives. I also need to ask if the USAF Squadron Officer School will be good for the Organizational Communications (It's listed as such in the ACE guide) or Organizational Behavior course.
