I was feeling snarky when I got home from work today and decided to log on to the Ashwood University (degree mill) website and chat with a representative. They claim to be accredited by such uhh...austere (cough) organizations as the Board of Online Universities Accreditation (BOUA) World Online Education Accrediting Commission (WOEAC). Both totally bogus, so I thought I would chat with a rep to see how they defended their homemade accreditation. Notice how Zack uses the term "REGIONAL" I used the name "Mark" Notice Zac's questionable grammar.

Zack Stevens: Hi! let me assist you with the application and evaluation process.

Zack Stevens: How are you doing?

Mark: Actually, I had a question about your accreditation.

Mark: Fine and how are you?

    Zack Stevens: Sure go ahead

Zack Stevens: I am fine too thanks for asking

Mark: I do not recognize the accreditations for your school, but I'm no expert. Are those accreditations recognized by the US Department of Education?

Zack Stevens: The accreditations are internationally recognized which obviously makes them recognized in the U.S

Mark: But are they approved by the Department of Ecucation?

Zack Stevens: It is necessary for those accreditation to be recognized by them who claim to be REGIONAL and are accrediting a college with a physical campus and class rooms.

Zack Stevens: Since we are an online university and work globally and are not bound to a region, state or country it is no necessary for us.

Mark: Not that it really matters, but it sounds like they are not listed then?

Zack Stevens: Yes you can take it that way.

Zack Stevens: We are fully accredited and accepted globally and are proud about it.

Wow. This reminds me of the type of passive bullying that is an integral part of mentalist cold readings. It's probably not that much of a coincidence since the milliversity in question is just as much a scam as James Van Praagh. Let's turn the tide on them shall we?

Your school- and I use the term "school" loosely, in fact heretically- boasts "international" accreditation, which obviously makes it fraudulent.

Wow....I never checked their website before, they're one of the most blatant fakes I've seen in a long time. It's nearly 3am my time, and an "academic advisor" still wanted to chat with me.....I had a bad night at work and just don't have it in me right now, I may take a run at them tomorrow.

There must be something in the air. While SurfDoctor was communicating with Ashwood, I was doing the same with Must University, since I plan to visit them this coming week. I was cut off twice; this is just part 3. Do you think they could be algorithms, not humans?

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Chris Reid'
Please wait while I transfer the chat to 'David Boyle'.
You are now chatting with 'David Boyle'
John: I think we were cut off. I was chatting with Mr. Boyle. Can you tell me, please, in what city in the US the university is located? Thank you.
David Boyle: Yes I am here with you
    David Boyle: San Francisco
John: Great. Is that the location on Market Street that I have seen? I am seriously interested.
David Boyle: what is it you want to study
John: Doctorate in business administration. Is that the location on Market Street that I have seen?
    David Boyle: which Market Street
John: Market Street in San Francisco. There is only one.
    David Boyle: yes
John: Thank you. Since I live nearby, I shall visit your office.
David Boyle: do that how ever we do not entertain students at our office
John: I am confused. You say "Do that" and then you say that I am not welcome. Please explain.
John: I am confused. You say "Do that" and then you say that I am not welcome. Please explain.
David Boyle: you can enroll now
John: I am confused. I ask about visiting your office in San Francisco, and you say "Do that" and then you say that you do not welcome students at that office. Please clarify.
John: Are you still there, Mr. Boyle?
David Boyle: Yes I am here
John: I am confused. I ask about visiting your office in San Francisco, and you say "Do that" and then you say that you do not welcome students at that office. Please clarify.
    David Boyle: Look
David Boyle: we do not entertain students at our Office
John: All right. I'll stop by anyway, but I will not expect to be entertained. Thank you for your help.
    David Boyle: bye
    Chat session has ended.

    Fake Degrees - Ashwood University

It is interesting that this scamversity has also an honest section of website, where it openly advertises fake degrees. Probably for potential buyers that search google for "fake degree"... :lmao:

It's funny how Cleveland Institute of Technology, another mill, say they are accredited by Universal Council for Online Education Accreditation (UCOEA), International Accreditation Agency for Online Universities (IAAOU), Board of Online Universities Accreditation (BOUA), and World Online Education Accrediting Commission (WOEAC). Accreditation agencies they say is equivalent to the four regionals. We now know that schools that (MUST) explain "things" around what accreditation is or not, are mills or dubiously accredited.

Ashwood claims WOEAC too. Are there really bogus accreditors that make a business out of accrediting bogus schools? They are not just made up names. Interesting, I'd like to learn more about what these people do with that.

If you dig deep, you'll see that most of these bogus accreditation bodies are owned and operated by the same operators of the mills. So you start you own degree mill; and then start your own accreditation agency, which is also used to accredited other mills that you own. Some mill owners operate several mills at the same time. The sad part is that these scam experts actually make money from the mills; people from under developed countries buy and use their degrees, which are supposed to be better that just claiming the titles without actual certificate to show for it. These are also places that printing a fake degree certificate may cost a fortune.

Usually, they just make up their own accreditors. For example, MUST and RISE University are "accredited" by the same entity. That is, MUST and RISE university are actually the same illegitimate organization and use claim the same fake accreditation for both. The oddest thing is that the fake accreditor's website doesn't even list the schools that they accredit. Therefore, I can demonstrate as I have on about half of a dozen occasions, that I can just as easily accredit this post as they do their "schools."

Certainly. A certain physics professor, with whom Dr. Bear and I are both familiar, would likely ask, "are you a Perl script?" :)
