I've already signed up for the mailing list and requested the textbook through my college's library.

Looks like fun. No official credit, but should be a great learning experience.

Signed up too. I bet its going to be really demanding for non-math wizards like myself...

I signed up for this too. Math requirement is probability and linear algebra. I wonder if the basic probability learned in discrete math would suffice, or if it has to be that hardcore probability theory class.

I wonder if the student with the highest gpa gets a scholarship for the certification?

This is great!! I signed up - now I need to figure out the math before October, lol. :twak:

I'm not the most math-abled person around, believe me - but there's something about a real challenge like this that interests me. For instance, when I started going to the community college I attended a few yrs back, one of my classes had a simple assignment to put something together that explains who we are... in two wks time I figured out the iMovie feature on my Mac (w/the help of my local Mac store), accessed the Prelinger Archives for some short movies (not well-known back then) and sliced them together w/some music background to make a short movie...... I did feel bad for the classmate with the simple poster board that followed me, though. :eek5:

Hopefully I won't have some sort of crisis that prevents me from attending the lectures - and studying. My life seems to be calming down... I hope!!

I registered for the advanced track as well. We'll see how much work is involved since I have 16 units this semester already. It says you can scale back to "basic" track at any time. It'll be cool to get a taste for what Stanford courses are like, which is probably something that very few people will ever get to experience. They also had another course on machine learning, which sounded cool as well Machine Learning - Stanford University

I signed up for the advanced track as well. Provided both the mid-term examination and final examinations are on-line and can be completed with arranging for a proctor the flexibility of the course cannot be beaten. An added bonus is taking this course from recognized leaders in their field.

I really wanted to sign up for this course, but my actual for-credit courses are keeping me to busy. No point in doing poorly in my real courses to complete this one. Hopefully, I'll be able to review the videos next year.

Thanks for posting this. As I am between degree programs and have always wanted to take an AI class, this is just about perfect, even if it will likely be more work than I really need halfway through my teaching semester.

I hope Stanford keeps doing this in other semesters.

Oh, and the machine learning class look really cool as well.

For those who are taking this course, what do you think of it so far?

I like the format of the lectures with the instant quizzes in between sections. I completed Homework 1 and got an 82.
