I have a DL grad degree and I'm proud of it.

Time will tell if my DL degree will be worth it, as I sit now, I have an associates degree from a B&M school so we will see.

 

My AA via DL from a (gasp) NA school has let me qualify as an EMS Instructor for the state (good $$), and my nearly completed BS (again from NA) was good enough to not only get me an interview for a highly competitive county executive position (160+ applicants), but get me into the final 4 selected. While I didn't get that job, without being close to graduating I would have never even gotten the first call-back. Bigger and better things with the start of an MA (this time from a RA school) this fall. DL is great!

Great feedback! Do you mind sharing what schools? If not, that is fine.

 

Your experience supports what I have said here many, many times. Except in academia and a few select fields, nobody really cares if your degree is DL, they just want to make sure that it is accredited. You have done really well with NA accreditation. Good for you for going RA now. NA is great, but RA is more widely accepted. Often unfair, but true.

I was searching for someone who might be willing and capable to act as a presenter at our panel at the IUS conference on Armed Forces and Society. (Outside reader) suggested you when he found out about my search



Our panel will be on ‘ in depth interviewing of veterans’ and it will consist of two Dutch and a Portuguese paper. The IUS conference will be held in October in Chicago. The idea is that that the authors of the different papers send in their contribution and these will be presented by a presenter. This presenter adds some comments and some questions to his presentation and the authors get a chance to clarify, correct and so on some of the gaps. And then there will be a chance for the audience to join in the discussion. The whole will be lead by a chair, a role which I will take for my responsibility.

Therefore I have the humble request to you, whether you will join us in this panel? If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to bring them to my attention by contacting me.

Damn straight I am proud of my degrees

Getting my M.S. in clinical psychology led to my income almost doubling. I am now working on my Ph.D. at Fielding. It has been a lot of work but when I am done I will have an APA approved Ph.D., lots of great clinical training, and publications. I will be presenting a paper at APA this August. When I am done with the Ph.D. my income will increase even more. I am damn proud of what I have done.

 

Both AA and soon-to-be BS from Columbia Southern University. Decent cost-per-hour, but the real reason I went with them was the fantastic customer service. Great school to deal with.
