I'm new here, but am very used to vBulletin from another forum I am a member at....so I probably feel a little more familiar (forgive me).

    Agreed!!

I like them, it's nice when you can go right to what you're looking for.

I'll tell you the same thing I said to someone in July: We're working on it!

None of us can promise when it will be fixed, but we can promise that it will be fixed :nana:

Too many … IMO yes; takes-up half of the DL discussion page.

I don't pay much attention to the stickies. I click on "new posts" when I log in and use the search engine when I am looking for something.

  8. More than half by my count.

Could the 'new posts' be reset to not empty so quickly....maybe empty every 24 hours?

You should make this poll a sticky so that everyone will see it. ;)

What is not being understood is that people who just drop by are the ones using the stickies. If you’re a registered user you might use the search function or just not look at the stickies anymore, but others do use them. Just look at their total views to determine if they are being utilized or not.

On purpose? And, isn't the total views calculated before it becomes a sticky? For instance, I write something brilliant and a zillion people view it- gosh darn it, let's make it a sticky! I think it enters into stickyhood with those views already counted. For fun, lets reset the total view values in each existing sticky.

I don't understand your question -- posts never empty unless the moderator deletes them for good reason (spam and the like).

I vote that we don't have enough stickies.

    I think nanoose means
"new posts" should have a longer definition of "new"

so if I log in and see 20 "new posts" but only have time to read 15 of them, and then I log in the next day, can I still see the 5 "new posts" that I didn't read ?

or maybe that's the way it already works ?
    I've never really paid attention
but I think that's what nanoose is asking
