I am completing my BS in Business Information Systems from Indiana Wesleyan U. I would like to teach in Louisville, KY. Can anyone educate me on this process on what I need to do and what will be the easiest or shortest route? Is it possible to teach on a BS in BIS? I am open to teaching at any level.

OK, well I'm guessing that you won't be teaching Business Information Systems in an elementary school or even a middle school. I am also guessing that you won't be teaching at any sort of college level with only a Bachelors degree. So that leaves High School. Maybe. You will need to take the required education courses and completed the required student teaching internship. I suggest that you go to the Kentucky state department of education and research the requirements for becoming a high school computer teacher.

Every state has a program for alternate route teachers

I am in the process of getting my teacher certification in NJ. My husband is still looking for a new job and we are open to just about anywhere in the country. So I have become an expert at finding the alternate route teaching certification page from any state where he gets an interview. Here is the link for Kentucky.

KY: Education Professional Standards Board Certification Division - Alternative Routes

You do need to know what grade and what subject you want to teach, but with any bachelor's degree you can teach almost anything if you have enough credits in a subject. My degree is in Natural Sciences/Mathematics, but i need 6 more credits in math to teach that to 5-8th graders I do not need any more credits to teach Social Studies in middle school and although I have 45 science credits I do not have enough in any one area to teach science to high school. Every state makes thier own rules and will have different testing and other requirements.

It can be difficult to get through all the obstacles that can be put in your way, but if you really want to teach it is worth it. Now that I have jumped through all the hoops I am very happy I have done it.
    Good Luck
