    Hi all,

Now that I have my CPA, I would like to apply for some on-line adjunct teaching positions. I have a master's (with 18 accounting credits), several years of experience, and my CMA. However, I have no teaching experience. Would I just use my standard resume that I would use for any position since I do not have any teaching experience to highlight, or are there adjustments that I should make for academic positions?

    Thank you for your help!!

When I submitted my resume for the first online teaching position, it was just a standard resume but I was sure to hightlight any teaching experience. If you have something like teaching new hires accounting software or mentoring new hires in accounting I would be sure to highlight that.

Thank you, I'll add some items like that to my resume and try to highlight the fact that I have a lot of experience as an on-line student at least. Thanks! :)

One more thing - on your cover letter be specific in the first few sentences. I have something like, "Please review the enclosed resume for an online business adjunct teaching position. I have several years teaching experience as a corporate/field trainer and adjunct experience in a traditional academic setting and an online environment. My teaching experience includes field trainer for XYZ Company, substitute instructor for ABC Technical Campus DOS and Windows modules, and online adjunct for ZZZ University using the eCollege Platform. I have over 18 graduate credits in information technology as well as management and extensive real-world experience in both areas."

Hope this helps and good luck.
