So true, so true. I really hope they are going towards the RA direction...

The Ed.D has a similar offer, pay for the first 4 subjects at normal rates, the rest can be completed at a total cost of 10k which is a good bargain. I am now taking the 4th subject, well worth the price.

Nice find. Does anyone have any info on the MBA track for Aspen ie 8 week courses? Regular semesters? Self-paced? Etc.

I work for a NY school system and NA degrees are not accepted by the NY Dept of Ed so I held off on the MBA, but I figure at this price, it might be worth it anyway. The State certification I want (sort of) requires an RA masters and then 36 post masters credits (not available online). In other words, about 10 years of Saturdays plus $60k minimum.

I think a $5k MBA might be just as beneficial to my resume, but need to know more about the length of time it would take for the Aspen degree.

Also, any prereqs for MBA? The website does not mention any.

Thanks for any info! Greatly appreciated!

Aspen offers Online Interactive 8 week courses and Online Independent 10 week courses. You can complete the independent courses much more quickly if you wish. The Aspen catalog is probably the best source of more detailed information on this. There are no pre-requsities beyond the admission requirements below.

    Where are the start dates?

Trying to find the start dates for the Online Interactive courses, but can't seem to locate them. Any ideas?

I'm tempted (while finishing my MSIM at Aspen, two courses left after the current one, then a final and capstone) to jump into the M.ed as well.

On a side note, I hope my degree reflects the MSIM that I enrolled in rather than the generic "Technology & Innovation" Masters that they now list on their website. I don't even see a specialization category that contains the courses in my program.

I just completed the MS IM program a couple months ago, the degree reflected the program I enrolled in and not the new MSTI program.

I did the online independent courses. I found them very well set up, and the Professors are great (all PhD's at the grad level)! I have seen people on this board complete the MBA in a year, and others took two to three years. I think I took it took me just under three years to complete. This deal just can't be beat.

I am also doing the online independent courses, it gives far more flexibility. Also if you have more time you can finish it earlier and go on to the next course.

    About the pre-pay. . .

Let me make sure I understand this. . .

You pay for the four courses up front ($2700), and can pay for the others at the reduced rate later?

The $3600 deal is a steal, but I might have trouble fitting ALL of that in for one payment. . .

    And. . .

How is Aspen about concurrent enrollment? I'm trying to finish my Bachelor's this fall, but it might segue into January.

    Hello Everyone:

I found this thread and of course was happy to see all the positive feedback. We did the $3,600 MBA about a week ago and the response has been terrific. So terrific, in fact, that I am listening to the wisdom of many of these boards’ members, and we are enhancing the special to all of our degree programs (with one or two small exceptions).

With a prepay, all our programs now blend out to $100 per credit hour.

Also, and for me this was probably the highlight of the year, we had our graduation ceremony a couple weeks ago. My IT team tells me the professionally shot video should be ready by the end of the week, in the interim, the pictures are linked here: Grad 2010 Pictures

There was also a reception Friday night, so if you want to kill 20 minutes watching me talk, there is a link to that video (not professionally shot). It was a great time had by all for sure.

I have a few more amazing announcements up my sleeve that I can make near the end of the year.

It took a full year to get things to where I wanted them from an infrastructure standpoint, but we seem to be there now and we can start working on the go-forward items. The one thing I can say is this, that the ‘education’ industry you think you see from the outside looking in is VASTLY different from the actual industry, hopefully my naive days are somewhat behind me (wishful thinking I’m sure).

As always feel free to send me an email at the below address.

Is financial aid available for the pre-pay option?

I spoke with someone today because I was very excited about the cost. Anyway, I was told they don't accept financial aid for the doctorate. I didn't ask about the masters.

    Dave,

Great to see you posting. It looks like great things are happening at Aspen! I watched the graduation video and it looked like a lot of fun.
