I'm looking into this program, but I'm a bit confused about the unit system they use. I searched on the archives here, and looked all over the NU site, but can't find anything on this. Trying to figure this out to see if I'd get this covered by financial aid...

I got an unofficial program estimate. I emailed the advisor asking if she could explain - but thought maybe someone here might know. Not many of my credits transferred - says here I need 32 classes.

So here's my question - are all the classes 4.5 units? If so (hey, my math skills are right up there..thanks to my nifty computer calculator :D), that means the 32 classes would be 144 of their units. How does that translate to the credit system usually used?

Also, I see in the archives that some people (S.O.S. to Maniac Craniac!!) have been very pleased with their experience with National University. Has anyone here taken this particular program or know of anyone who took it?

National University is on the quarter-unit system. To convert from quarter units to semester units divide by 1.5.

So a 4.5 quarter unit class is really only a 3 semester unit class.

    4.5/1.5 = 3

    I hope this helps!

Maniac Craniac didn't go to NU. I did, but did not do your particular program. I earned a teaching credential and a master's and I was very pleased. I don't think you will be disappointed. It's one class a month, so the pace is quick. But 32 classes for a master's sounds a bit much; you must be going for a bachelor's degree.

If you have a lot of units that didn't transfer at NU, you might should consider a different school like TESC. I have heard that they are more lenient about taking transfer units. I know there are others too. Other board members, what other schools should the OP consider?

Sorry - got you guys mixed up. Too much heat here today for my brain to work properly. (in the 90's - w/no a/c & I hate the heat!)

    Yes, forgot to mention that.

I am, actually. I take way too long to make any decisions. Well, this is important, so I think that's. I guess..

Applying for UMass Amherst UWW and COSC this week. Maybe more (depending if I can get the application fees waived).

I don't understand it, but it happens all the time! Quite frankly, I am flattered to be confused with someone with such a stellar academic record, integrity and sense of humor.
