Love it, lol, with all the nay-sayers.

We've all been wrong before, we'll be wrong again. But yeah, this thread made sense at the time. Now it looks like an embarrassing blooper reel.

We don't always get it right.

P.S. Glad I didn't post a neg in this one, LOL!

The original comments in this thread were posted in June 2010.
University of the People got DETC accreditation in February 2014.

So at least one of the predictions in this thread -- in Post #3 -- seems reasonably accurate:

Well, they didn't become accredited "soon" after that post -- it took them nearly four years.

Disclaimer: I did not previously post in this thread either.

No, not really. We were commenting based upon the best available information at the time. They didn't offer degrees, so how would they have been accredited back then? I still like the idea of having individual courses evaluated by ACE.

Frankly, I like the Saylor.org site better than UoP. I have been using it to study for CLEP and Thomas Edison exams, and there are pathways to get the actual Saylor courses transferred for credit.

I'll be interested in hearing about UoP graduates who are able to enroll in RA graduate programs.

I'm thinking about giving UoTP a try, take one class and see how it goes. If it is a decent experience, I might just swap over to complete my associates before transferring over to Columbia Southern for my BS completion.

I know, I know they are both NA, but that is just fine for my needs and CSU has a BS program that perfectly meets my needs.
