    Semantics. If you're in that phase, you're allowed to use that title.

    Sometimes, just admit you were wrong. It comes back to you in karma.

    Our president of the two-year school where I worked completed his doctorate from Nova Southeastern. I am fairly certain that it hasn't held him back at all.

    For a few years (yikes) I used the ABD title in my signature line on this board just to show others where I am at in the process. I would never try to use it in any official academic capacity. That would be embarrasing.

    I think MichaelOliver is right and you are wrong. It's not an awarded title, even on the page you provided as proof. I think you should admit that you are wrong, it will improve your karma.

    I don't think anyone is right or wrong in this case. It's all just a matter of opinion. I hope to be at the ABD phase in a couple of years and I'm dang sure going to flaunt it! I was never saying you shouldn't attach ABD to your title, it's quite an accomplishment that you should be proud of.
