I just received notification that I have met all requirements for the MSIS at DSU. I found DSU thanks to this forum and completed my first 100% DL degree program.

Now to keep going with the PhD...

Thanks! I start my second course for the PhD in a couple weeks. I'm taking all of the courses online, but will have to go to the main campus for the qualifying exam, possibly for dissertation advisor meetings, and the dissertation defense.

    Congrats!

Good job! I am still waffling ever closer to a decision about an EdD/EdS program. Probably a Fall thing...

Yes...I am starting to feel this. I am compiling mucho research about degrees which confer Principal licensure in their state of conferral. Doctorates are notorious for not doing this. I assume the prevailing school of thought is that a doctoral level learner should have already completed graduate studies in educational admin and received such licensure endorsement. As I bleed down this list, there are a few EdD or PhD programs that are looking very good, indeed.

Now...to get my lovely wife to endorse my proposed educational expenditure! :)

I can relate! That's the original reason I picked up a couple online adjunct jobs. I really enjoy it but the time it takes is sometimes a pain.

That was something I was wondering about / after reading the DBA thread. How often DSU required you to come on to their campus during their PhD program.

Since I am on the east coast that is a LONG way! Congrats!!!

That's a good question. I came to this board in 2004 in search of a PhD program and made my username to reflect that fact. If I am successful in my endeavor, then my username will no longer fit. :(

I'm not sure, but I would speculate the required number of visits to be none to very few. All of the courses for the DSc can be done online, the qualifying exam can be done at your location, the dissertation can be done via distance, and I would speculate that the dissertation defense could be done via telephone or videoconference. Your best bet would be to contact the DSU graduate office and ask them.
