    Randell,

You seem to have plenty of education already, I'm also a degree junky and must say that at some point people start looking at you weird when you keep accumulating degrees in different fields. Most people would expect you to be an specialist, you can be IT specialist with marketing or finance flavor but nobody would take you seriously for a finance teaching job just because you finished 18 credits in the area mainly because you have plenty people with careers in Finance and they wouldn't expect that some one that finished 18 credits online would be considered a committed finance professional. I honestly think that an MBA from the same school that you finished your MSc would be just a waste of money and will just generate another junk diploma in your basement.

What do you mean by "junk diploma"? I am trying to find a certificate in marketing program that may also work but can't find any/many. Any suggestions?

You don't need a certificate, any school that would allow you to take 18 credits would work. As you already have a master's, 18 graduate credits in marketing would do and there is no need to show a certificate.

Got it. That is why I plan to start with marketing classes and if I have enough left in me, just finish the last four classes for the MBA.

    Randell,

The University of Canberra (AUS) offers an online graduate diploma in marketing (24-credit points /hours). This is an Australian University I wasn't aware of.

Well, this makes sense. I started working repairing medical equipment which evolved into computer based medical equipment (IT specialist with lots of certs), I was promoted to area manager (covering 5 states) then national manager, then was merged with the Service Marketing team and have really focused on the marketing end for the past two years (while still managing 6 direct reports that are area managers with a total of 50 people reporting to them) as well as co-managing the IT field specialist which is what I started as when I was hired. Oh yeah, and I work with the finance group on ROI's, depreciation, "recoverable" contracts, evergreen contracts, and AVAMED issues. But I guess that is really Service Marketing issues also. I have decided to drop the whole idea of finance (learning it and teaching it) because...well I just don't like it.

Anyway, I signed up for a Marketing class at TUI -
    MKT510 – Marketing Services
Introduces students to marketing strategies for services in both profit and nonprofit organizations. Topics include the unique characteristics of services marketing, the role of customer experience in co-creating the service experience, the interplay of marketing and HR functions, management of complaints and guarantees, services marketing in global environments, and the use of marketing techniques to achieve service breakthroughs.

This is a direct match to what I do on a daily basis. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I will be working on the TUI class during the down time while I wait on feedback for my Dis Proposal. I will also have a month off between NCU classes...guess I just can't sit still.

You’re welcome. Anyway with the US Dollar’s continued devaluation; Australian universities aren’t near the tuition savings that they once were. And City University of Seattle has IMO always been rather steep on tuition.

You have the fact that Australian school have raise their tuition very heavily due to demand. Charles Sturt used to charge about 17K AUD for their DBA. USQ used to charge about 20K AUD and now more like 40K AUD for their DBA. Some other Australian school charge small fortunes for the doctoral programs specially if they are AACSB accredited.

Likely it’s the combination of monetary exchange rates (e.g., weak U.S. dollar) and increased demand /program expansion expenditures – overhead costs .
