Hi everyone, My name is Thomas. I am currently in the US Army and have been since Nov 2007. I have a wife and two children. My son's name is Tristen and he is 17 months old. My daughter's name is Madison and she is 6 weeks old. I am starting to focus on my educational goals and look forward to interacting with you all. I want to thank everyone for their time, and for helping so many people with your posts. I have been reading around on these forums for a while and I finally decided to register! My educational goals as of now are to complete a BA by the time my contract is up. I am undecided on a specific course of study at the moment, and I am looking into several schools to get some General Ed requirements locked down. I have heard some good things about Coastline. They seem to be pretty cost efficent as well. Thanks for your time, and its great to be here. Sincerely, Thomas
Hi Thomas - welcome to degreeinfo. You've probably already figured out that there are a lot of people in your general situation. They're interested in earning a degree but don't want it to take forever. While that's understandable, please don't fall for any of the (many) bogus degree scams that are out there. Look through BAin4weeks and read through some of the old threads. Ask questions. You don't need to reinvent the wheel, it's all been done before. Good luck. http://www.bain4weeks.com/
Mos? Welcome from a newer newcomer! Are you liking the job the military service has trained you to do? Electronics? Communication? Clerical? Military police? Etc.? If so, that might be a good choice for a major for your BA degree. Community colleges are a great place to look. There is usually a wide variety of subjects to study, you can earn an AA degree and probably apply those credits to a BA at a different school. Community colleges are often an inexpensive way to learn. Many have online/distance education opportunities as well as the face-to-face classroom experiences. Good luck! Mr. Jack
