Last night I submitted my last 6 papers for my last two classes at TUI. The semester actually ends 9/21, so I finished two weeks early. My M.S. is in Emergency and Disaster Management. I learned about TUI and the discount they give gov employees on this site. I enjoyed the program at TUI, and I worked my tail off but it has been well worth it. I even managed to lose 30 lbs over the last 5 months and only have 15 more to go to reach my goal.

When I was looking for a school, time to complete and cost were the main factors. If I had it to do over I might have chosen Jacksonville State University instead, however at the time I thought I needed to complete it by this October, as a special assignment at work would be coming open then. It ended up coming open much earlier, last November in fact, and I was able to get the assignment anyway, thanks in part I believe to the fact that I was working on a Masters.

I began my back to school journey in late 2006 and since then have finished my B.S. and completed a M.S.

I'm considering the MAIS at WNMU in Criminal Justice and Psychology sometime at a later date, but don't tell my wife as she is excited to be getting her husband back.

Although I don't post much, I read this forum often and have gained a lot of knowledge and motivation from here. Thank you to this forum and good luck to you all.

    Nicely done!

Is this a career changer or enhancer?

How was all the writing? I have read and heard that the TUI programs are extremely writing intensive.

Take a break, sounds like you deserve it.

You lost 30 pounds while pursuing a masters degree? If you want to go for the emaciated look, then enroll in a doctoral program.

CONGRATS and I'm so jealous - I still have a full year to go with my masters AND I could really stand to lose 30 pounds.

lol, I have been working out 5 days a week and eating smaller portions. It has taken hard work. My days used to be come home form a 10 hr shift, work out for an hour, eat dinner, do homework until bedtime.

I'm a Federal Air Marshal and this assignment is to a FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force in a city where all my family lives. It's a 3 year detail but an awesome opportunity for me both personally and professionally.

I really enjoyed the TUI format. I prefer writing to memorizing and regurgitating facts for tests. Taking two classes at a time I had to write two papers a week for 15 months. I did the math once on how many papers that is, bad idea. :)

Holy crap, that's a lot of writing. I'm not sure I have that much to say.

FAM, eh? All of that traveling would be tough on anyone for sure...Nice to see you'll be near family.

    Thank you for your service.

    Congratulations!!

    Jared,

Congratulations on completing a major task in your life. Rather quickly too I might add. I am finally graduating with my bachelor's degree next week and will start on my MBA two weeks after that. I guess I have a little catching up to do! As some of the others have mentioned, please make sure you do something special to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment.
