I, too, don't understand why they would accept up to 15 units of transfer graduate credit as part of the 60 doctoral units.

No dissertation?! Am I reading that correctly? Or is "Doctoral Studies" a dissertation?

From their website; Course description: DDBA 9000 Doctoral Study Completion (4 sem. cr.)
"This final doctoral study demonstrates a student’s scholarly ability to examine, critique, and synthesize knowledge, theory, and experience, so that new ideas can be tested; best practices identified, established, and verified; and theoretical, practice or policy constructs evaluated and advanced. In all cases, the doctoral study is a rigorous inquiry that results in new knowledge, insight, or practice, demonstrating its efficacy in the world of business and management. The goal of the doctoral study is for the business professional to conduct an investigation that focuses on business practice within a designated context. Ultimately, every doctoral study should make a fresh contribution to the field of practice in the professional business environment".

I noticed that Argosy online has a DBA program that is 60 semester hours too....

Their glossy brochure and course descriptions refer to a dissertation.

Well, I did something unheard of...I called the school and asked at the source. They do require a dissertation. If you look at the specializions it shows 24 credits are required for the dissertation. I pointed out that the course descriptions make it appear as if only 4 credits were required for a Doctoral Study Completion and the response was, "oh, your right but it does require a dissertation."

The 4 credits is for the dissertation proposal; there is a further 20 credits for the dissertation itself.

Now, that makes more sense... I was hoping the original poster would just answer the question about the program they were describing, so we could be lazy and not have to actually look ourselves. :)

This is a blog of educated people. If it interest you that much, look it up for yourself. My question was to people in the program, I'm not your enrollment advisor. I notice your post always have a negative connotation.

If you couldn't answer my original question you had no need to comment, period.

Hmmm. I'm pretty sure that Dave was just joking. No need to get upset.
Good luck with your program. I'm sure we'll be interested in any updates that you could provide.

Not upset at all! Just wanted to make it clear I was just asking anyone in the program about the program, nothing more, nothing less. I wasn't trying to sell anyone on the program or provide commentary of curriculum.

    Thanks for wishing me luck.

In the most positive tone possible, I suggest that you might have misunderstood my tone and the nature of my questions.
