My sister who lives in Canada right now just enrolled in an two-year online PTA diploma program offered by a local community college. She plans to transfer some credits to a similar program in America next year (preferably an associate degree program) , and take the certification test after graduation. Any suggestions?

There is a chance she may not even need to complete an american program. Some states allow Canadian grqduates to sit for state licensure.

Here is the criteria the program must meet:

Which program is she enrolled in? She might be able to work with the program director to meet all of the abover criteria.

Thanks Jeremy. She is in a two year diploma program, http://www.mhc.ab.ca/calendar/programs/therapistassistantotaoccupationaltherapistassistantdiplomaptaphysicaltherapistassistantdiplomaslpasp/38.html, which looks like the Canadian Equivalent of American PTA associate degree program.

She's planning to get licensed in Maryland. According to Maryland PTA website, the foreign educated need to have their transcripts and diplomas evaluated as well as pass license exam.

Thanks for info Jeremy, I replied you this morning and sent a private message, but now I couldn't find them, very strange.

The two year diploma pta program looks like the Canadian equivalent of American associate degree Pta program, check here for details:

She wants to get licensed in Maryland, therefore needs to have transcript and diploma evaluated as well as take the exam.
