Opinions on Business casual

John: No, this is just "casual." With "business casual" you wear pants.

I follow this article's suggestions:

Business Attire

Since I live in the south we normally relax attire in the summer due to heat and humidity. However, I always wear starched shirts and starched chinos even when at my most business casual. In fact I prefer this attire but change to a colored (print, etc...) shirt and no jacket if the occasion calls for it (otherwise it's starched white). I use my ties to bring in color. I always bring some type of jacket in case I have to meet with upper management or other officials. I own a black leather blazer and it usually makes the trip as a "just in case". While not as formal as a suit/sports coat it nonetheless fits most occasions. My thoughts have always been I can take off a coat and remove a tie but it would be hard to put them on if you didn't have them.

With the exception of my suits all my clothes are 100% cotton and starch up nicely.

I always wear slip on shoes (usually kiltie tassels). I don't care if folks think lace up shoes are classier I don't care.

 

Hey Kevin! After that description I don't think that you're going to be able to carry that "resident redneck" tag anymore.

 

Welllll, uh, uhmm, but I can weld and build, and do burnouts and everything... my job just pays for tires....

 

And if you get bored you can always smoke it. ;-)
