Hey guys, as far as I know I am the only one around here who has had my DETC transcripts appealed at EC. I decided to go ahead and move forward with them instead of losing everything that I did in the lengthy appeal process. I see questions here about it and I thought I would update everyone. I will CLEP my way through this quickly so I can go ahead and move on towards my MBA. I have already been accepted at a few good institutions for my MBA. Right now I am thinking about going ahead with UNA since they are pursuing AACSB right now.
Right on! I think there may have been someone else by now as well (EC DETC credit transfer), though I do not remember the name. Maybe I will do the same after I am done with the MBA. Do I need another BS? No, it would just be for the heck of it. Or I may do the BA in labor studies at TESC. Not sure. Good to hear from you! Keep up the good work broheim! Abner
I successfully transferred 9 credits from Aspen University (DETC) to Excelsior. No appeal required. just a transcript and a copy of the course syllabi.
Interesting. I did mine a year ago. Do you now their policy on this now? I was allowed a max of 30 credits to transfer.
I did this back in December of last year. The academic advisor indicated that the appeal process was no longer required for DETC credits. He did say that both my transcripts and course syllabi were required in order for credits to be evaluated. After Excelsior received the transcript from Aspen (and the syllavi from me) the process took about a month. It was very straightforward. Actually, the Aspen credits were graduate credits (long story), and all 9 were accepted toward my A.S. in Liberal Studies. Tom
Thanks. My A.S. degree will be conferred by Excelsior on April 17th! I just started my second course with Bellevue University (I'm working on a B.S. in Behavioral Science). How's the MBA coming along? Tom
Good job! I am on my last "regular" class, then I am onto to capstone, the final. Getting closer! Abner
