I already passed the test and it was not the toughest test but a good foundation.

I took this test a few years ago and it has (had) an IT twist. It used to be IT Project+. If you do not have any IT background, this may add an extra level of difficulty. I would recommend this to anyone that is thinking of a PMP (which I am) and, ideally, has an IT background.

Has anybody received an email yet providing any other info, such as a voucher number?

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I signed up and finally got an email today from Comptia. Hopefully others were able to get in. Good Luck!

Also just an FYI... The page to signup appears to have been removed now.

The page you have requested (http://certification.comptia.org/project/beta0309.aspx) was not found.

The CompTIA Web site has been updated and many of the pages have moved.

Yeah, I got the same thing. Will probably try to knock it out mid-May between semesters at UIS.

Got mine, no voucher yet, just a promise but I intend to devote a weeks worth of study and then take a shot at it.

I know there will be a new book for a new test, but I used a Sybex book.
Project+ Study Guide with cd rom (Paperback)
by William Heldman (Author), Lona Cram (Author), Lona Cram William Heldman (Author)
    ISBN-10: 078214408X

That's the one I'm reading now. Do you think that book covered the test reasonably well?

Yes I do - it covered the old test. When ever the tests change new books come up to cover the added/changed material. The old book may not meet the needs of the new test.

Do you know where to find updated test prep for Project+? The Comptia website seems to list only materials for the 2003 test.

There aren't any. They're in beta testing now. I'll give the beta test a crack based upon what I learned in the old book and my experience (which is somewhat limited) and we'll see. The worst that can happen is I fail but get a heads up on what will be expected when the final test does come out. Either way this isn't the credential I'm after so much as the PMP.

Has anyone received any results from their beta Project+ test?

From my understanding, because they kept extending the deadline trying to get the 400 test takers, the anticipated launch date has been pushed back to February 2010, and that's when results will be mailed out.
