We just interviewed a potential mechanical engineering consultant who received his degree from West Clayton University. After viewing their website, and searching around a little, it seems that this school is not only unaccredited, but claiming accreditation from fake accreditors. Anyone have any experience with them?

I've never heard of the school, but it and both of its accreditors have their websites registered at the same address:

    5715 Will Clayton Parkway #3153
    Humble, TX 77338

Google tells us that Belford University is located at that same address. It appears that the address belongs to a mail-forwarding company called USA2ME.

Appears to be a wonderful school of exceptional quality.

    (just kidding)

Its website looks rather low quality and it is offering degrees other than religious ones, so looks to me to be unuseable for much since the degrees are not likely legally useable in most states.

I'd not hire him and tell him why.

    West Clayton

I have researched West Clayton and made several phone calls. The college was good until 2009 when they closed and someone else ran with the name and the website. Friom what I have found out all degrees prior to 2009 are good, but may not be accepted in all states because some experience was tested out as credit towards the degree. All in all the persons with pre 2009 degrees should be considered as lagit.

    No, it wasn't.

    No, they aren't.

    No, they shouldn't.

Back around 2007, its degrees were for sale on EBAY for $179. At that time, the same person owned "West Clayton," "Williams
University," AND the two bogus accreditors, IDLAA and REDAC. It's on all the State "Unrecognized" lists...buy and use at your own peril!

P.S. Say, Mr. (1-post) Eduman - did YOU own/run West Clayton -- or do you merely have one of their diplomas? :jester:

About a month ago we hired a person who is doing an outstanding job for our company. This person had a Master of Business Administration from West Clayton University.
    So they get my vote.

Still working on the company ethics manual? You should get that thing done.

From the West Clayton "Terms of Use" Page:

1- By enrolling in West Clayton University you acknowledge that there is no curriculum, no study, no exams and no attendance. West Clayton University grants the degree or the certificate based on your life or work experience only.

There -- that should settle things! The rest makes interesting reading, too! [link removed by moderator]

I believe West Clayton may be one of a couple of dozen worthless "schools" operated by Salem Kureshi, from his apartment in Karachi, Pakistan. The reason I think so is that West Clayton shares a maildrop address with Belford U. - which is definitely part of the Kureshi stable. Also, the West Clayton website uses the same, strangely-clipped local English as other mills of known Pakistani manufacture, listed in the link below.

Here's that link to a list of Kureshi's uh - "schools." All scams - and frequently changed, I'm sure...

Salem Kureshi, Karachi Pakistan - maybe another good job for a team of Navy Seals!

    School - West Clayton University

!!!!Was a valid on line and small university prior to 2009. Lost accrediation due to mis managment of campus administration and school has since closed. DO NO ACCEPT ANY DEGREE"S BEYOND!!

Very sad for people who went to legit school and now some scum is taking advantage of the opportunity to make money off people.

I wanted to give an update.
The person we hired that had a degree from West Clayton is still with us and is now the GM for our sister company. He's done an incredible job with that company (we almost closed it, prior to him being the new GM) and it's now showing profits. Not sure about the other comments regarding prior 2009, but we would hire someone again pre 2009. What made me post here again was, because I was speaking to the CEO of one of our vendors in San Diego, topic turned into looking for top executives, and funny thing was he hired a lady years ago that is now their Vice President, and she got her degree from West Clayton. Lagit or Not, they are doing something right.

If your employees have worked out well it's not because of their fake degrees, it's in spite of them. But if you're so enamored of West Clayton, why not name your company and your employees who have West Clayton "degrees?" Go on the record, go public. Or not.

Can't believe I cam across this post again. The employees are still with the company and doing good. From what I understand talking to them after seeing this again, they know that what ever they say there is no way they would be fired, they said they had to have work experience, also other schooling and or certificates added to work experience also helped to get the degree, they couldn't just buy it. Or so they believe. On a different note, I think experience means more than just a degree with no experience, sort of in line with what Kizmet said that if they worked out well it was because of them. About going public, I don't think so... that would let another company swoop in and offer more money and benefits and try to steal them from us. Or maybe that was your plan Kizmet. Haha it's not going to happen.
