Well now that my hopes and dreams of an M.S. in IMC from WVU are shattered...I'd like to get an MBA with a possible emphasis in marketing.

I'd really like to find a school that's around my Tuition Assistance cap of $250 per semester hour....and a school that let's me enroll nearly anytime. I'm going to be studying hard this next month for the GMAT, so I want a school that's AACBS (?) accredited. Also, the school that lets me get my degree the soonest would be nice:)

So to sum it up, I'd like a school that meets the following criteria:

    - military friendly...around $250 (give or take) per semester hour
    - enrollment opportunities all year/month long (or close to)
    - AACBS accredited
    - quick finish-time
    - school that someone may have actually heard of

I know MBAs have been beaten to death on this forum, but any help would be great appreciated. This forum is a real blessing.

    Thanks!

    JC,

Until you pass the GMAT with an acceptable score to a potential school(that you may have in mind) your options will be limited. The criteria you listed above will be hard to accommodate (I could be wrong). Hopefully, the good folks and gurus of this board will guide you to the right school.

Pardon my ignorance but please define what you mean by "military friendly."

To get more info go to www.geteducated.com and download the freebies. Tution has climbed at most schools and you will have a tough time finding any MBA at the $250 rate let alone at an AACSB school with name recognition.

You might want to consider other degree titles, MA-Management, MSM, etc...as these programs are often cheaper than the MBA from the same school.

Did you go through the MBA sticky thread?

Have you looked the MBA offered by AMU/APU?
    http://www.amu.apus.edu/Academics/Degree-Programs/program.htm?progid=4463&program_type=Masters
Cost is reasonable and includes at least one marketing course.
Not AACBS accredited but in my opinion this is accreditation is over rated and ignored by most recruiters.

CSUDH offers an ACBSP accredited MBA but the tuition cost is $400 per hour plus some prerequisites are required.

Have you considered the various federal tax benefits in estimating the tuition you can afford?
For example the $2000 per year credit for lifelong learning credit is worth $133per unit based on 15 units per year.

The school you are seeking doesn't exist. You're going to have to make some concessions.

Chadron State College...not AACSB accredited, but cheap. Honestly, unless you are going to work on Wall Street or plan to teach at a business school, the AACSB accreditation is probably not necessary.

American Military University...definitely military-friendly. I think it is $275 per credit hour, and again, it's not AACSB.

Wyoming State University...I think this one might be AASCB accredited, and it is cheap.

Someone already mentioned GetEducated.com. I also recommend eLearners.com's degree search database.

So does everyone here really feel that the AACSB accreditation isnt really that necessary? Schools that arent AACSB accredidted dont even required the GMAT.

I dont want to apply for a job and have my application get laughed at because I went to some "no-name" BS school.

If the AACSB accr. doesnt really matter than much, then that opens up LOTS of doors for cheaper schools.

I have heard mixed things about Columbia Southern...is that just some diploma mill. Will an employer laugh it off?

Columbia Southern isn't a mill, and has been doing quite well, but it is DETC accredited. For the same money stick with a state school.

FWIW I checked the average GMAT score for their program, and it's 516. Very do-able.
