When you say they accepted Penn Foster credits are you refering only to the ACE evaluated courses or does this include their regular offerings as a NA accredited school?

    Transferability of Credits

The transferability of Penn Foster College credits is solely at the discretion of the receiving institution. To help student transfer credits, over 125 of Penn Foster College courses have been recommended for college and university credit by ACE/College Credit Recommendation Service.* The American Council on Education is the major coordinating body for all the nation's higher education institutions.

You can add Liberty University to the list. While I have not enrolled at Liberty, I was told by their admissions department that Penn Foster courses are accepted. Liberty accepts credits from all RA and NA institutions.

Schools that will accept them via ACE transcript: Mount Saint Mary's (Maryland), Hood College, the University of Baltimore, and Frostburg University. For what it is worth, both Frostburg and Baltimore are AACSB accredited.

That's a horrible list. Of course other DEAC-accredited schools will accept their credits. Why list them? Even if you do, get the name right. (California Coast college?) Plus the dicey schools highlighted in the OP's list (KW-U and Madison). Yeesh.

I'm kind of surprised it's that short, actually.

The list only represents articulation agreements, so I wouldn't expect it to be toooo long. Although, it could be argued that it could be longer for a school that's been around since the late 1800's.

I didn't know they had an articulation agreement with COSC. So, does that mean COSC will take their non-ACE-approved credits?

As noted, these are only the articulation agreements that PF has formally entered into.

I can attest to the fact that I transferred an art appreciation class to the University of Scranton (it was the final elective requirement for my A.A.). Since Scranton has AACSB accreditation, I was told that they would be much stricter when transferring in business credits. Which, if you think about it, is the bulk of what PF offers by way of ACE recommended coursework. They were willing to flex on a pretty inconsequential elective but I doubt you'd be able to transfer an appreciable number of credits from a PF A.S. program. Then again, that would be the case any time you try to transfer non-AACSB coursework into an AACSB program even if the school is non-profit and RA.

We also know that Ashford accepts NA degrees. You could probably check out the schools that Ashworth has articulation agreements with. While not guaranteed, some of those schools may bite on PF even without an agreement. At the very least they've expressed an openness to NA programs.

As for COSC, I saw that a few months ago and wondered the same. Though I imagine one would have to ask COSC or PF about the terms of the agreement to understand the limitations. Maybe they accept associate's degrees as a block rather than dealing with course-by-course acceptance.

When I was searching schools for a BSBA, I didn't have any issue transferring my Penn Foster A.S. (as a block) into a few RA Schools (mainly for-profit).

The schools that a applied and was accepted to were: WGU, APUS, Colorado Tech, Baker College and South. I never paid attention to articulation agreements. Acceptance seemed to depend on if the school wanted to fill seats and were in want of my FAFSA money. Go figure.

I missed the articulation PDF that's posted on the site. It was pointed out to me by someone on the other forum. COSC's articulation agreement only covers ACE-approved courses, and there are credit limits for the programs within the agreement. In my opinion, it's not a real articulation agreement. I don't even think COSC offers some of the degrees listed, and they already accept ACE-approved courses from just about everywhere. Excelsior, on the other hand, will accept non-ACE-approved NA courses on a case-by-case basis. COSC and TESU won't accept them at all without ACE or NCCRS approval.
