I'm more than a little envious GeeBee, that's a degree I once worked toward myself. Unlike you however, my story ended in the washout thread. Congratulations on your accomplishment, I know just how much work that can be.

Accidentally posted in this in a new message and not in this one so sorry if you see a duplicate thread.

I'm investigating getting another degree in CS or a graduate certificate and saw this thread. I haven't been on here in about 11 yrs but I'll briefly mention my experience. I quit a good job at AT&T at 24 yrs old because I had hit a ceiling with my career. I gave myself 1 yr to finish my undergrad and I had 60 credits to go. I went to Georgia State University in person and took a total of about 14 CLEP, Dantes, and ECE exams and finished just in time a year later and was accepted to Georgia Tech's full time MBA program. I transferred all my credits to Thomas Edison and received a BA in Psychology .

My first year at Georgia Tech I started a business for a business plan competition class that was subsequently invested in by a major silicon valley VC.

For those wondering if TESC can get you into a good graduate program the answer is absolutely yes assuming you have a good GPA and solid test scores. What you do from there is up to you.

Today I received the email I have been waiting for, telling me that I have successfully completed my bachelors degree in Social Science at Thomas Edison State College.
If I had not stumbled upon this site I would have never known the avenues available for someone like myself, who had a boat load of credits in different majors from different colleges around the country.
A big thank you to degreeinfo.com and the people who post on here (and a special thanks to sanantone who responded to my original post some 15 months ago and laid out the clep and dsst's I needed tog et going on this thing). I think that there are so many people out there who never finished their degree and would benefit so greatly from browsing this board!
    Now, it's MBA time!

I have successfully completed my Associates of Art degree in Real Estate Studies at American Military University. However, I can not wait to get my undergraduate certificate in paralegal studies from the same place.

Congratulations! Getting that first degree is such a huge milestone! Do you intend to go on with a BA at some point, or is it your intention to get a position as a paralegal?

It's been a while since my last post, since then I earned two graduate degrees. One is from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and the other from Leicester University in England. Also, good to see so many familiar names after been away for so long. I did miss this forum.

Thanks in large part to the knowledge and feedback I received from this forum, I was able to:

Take and pass a bunch of DSST exams in a short amount of time

Pass a bunch of CLEP exams based on topics I never thought I could pass

Apply the existing credits I had obtained at various community and 4 year colleges to a Degree program

Enroll in and Complete a BS in Liberal Arts from EC after taking a few upper level EC exams

Apply to and gain entrance to a decently ranked regional MBA program and subsequently complete this past December 2015

All this while working and supporting a family

    All thanks to this forum!

To anyone going thru or considering this unique route to a degree, just put your head down and grind through it. Totally doable and totally worth it!
