    UNISA DBL update...

    Hi Folks,

My thesis has just been approved after external reviews and edits, and I have now fulfilled all the major requirements to graduate. It's just a matter of shipping the bound copies of the thesis over, and mopping up some paperwork. I am hoping to graduate either this September or next April, depending on how quickly the process goes. One thing is for sure: I will NEVER have to work on that thesis again! Yaaaay!! Thanks to everyone here for being there, and I wish you all the best in your studies...

I have been away from the board for a couple of years, for a while I thought I would post to washout thread, but I finally decided to finish, and I have just received my diploma, I have officially finished my master's degree with WGU, two years after what I had planned.
Degreeinfo was a very valuable resource, I appreciate everyone's input, I will become more active as I decide in the next few months if I go on to a doctorate.

    It does feel good!!!!

Who cares if it was two years after you planned - the main thing is that it is DONE!

    Hello Everyone,

While coming to Degreeinfo last year, I received my Th.M from South African Theological Seminary. I had lost all hope of going back to school. My academic journey has been a wilderness experience. I studied at Gordon Conwell for my MA in Urban Ministry. With about a semester's worth of classes to go, I found myself in all sorts of financial problems that made it nearly impossible to continue. Furthermore, my other life commitments hindered me from pursuing this goal. But when I stumbled on Degreeinfo, I realized that I have the world in my fingertips. I never post anything; but I am here at least once a day. Currently I just submitted my letter of motivation for the PhD in Systematic Theology at ATS (Auckland Park). Blessings!

    My Little Success Story

I don't remember when I first became a member of DegreeInfo, but it's been a number of years. My original "handle" was Pugbelly, but due to issues with the account I am now Pugbelly2. I think I had 9 undergraduate hours to my name when I first joined this forum. I was taking some religion courses from an unaccredited (but reputable) school, but was unsure about my academic direction. I didn't even understand the nuances of accreditation! Since that time, with a lot help from various members of this forum, I've earned an AAS with Thomas Edison State College and a BA in Leadership from Bellevue University (where I also earned outstanding writing and research honors). I'm now at the halfway point in my Master of Science in Organizational Performance program, am carrying a 4.0 GPA, and am looking ahead to my next pursuit. I'm torn between a Master of Jurisprudence in Corporate and Business Law and a PhD in Leadership.

I held an executive position within my organization prior to earning my first degree, so I wasn't looking for the degree to advance my career. What my academic pursuits have given me is a tremendous amount of confidence, increased respect from colleagues, a much broader understanding of the business world, society, and of human behavior.

I'm very proud of my accomplishments and of the increased perspective I've gained in countless areas, but I'm not sure that any of it would have been possible had it not been for this forum. Even though the bickering that takes place on the board is frequently petty, judgmental, and always annoying, it has served as a tremendous resource for me.

Many thanks to all of you!

Look at the initiators of such things. They almost always have an agenda and are upset that others might have contrary facts. It usually ramps up from there.

    Congrats!

I agree. It's really a statement to the passion we have toward the various aspects of education. Truthfully, I've probably learned as much from the bickering as I have anything else. It just gets annoying when a thread spirals off topic and things get personal.
