WOW, you did it! No offense, but reading your previous frustrations with transferring credits and completing your degree made me feel like my own frustrated efforts were "not that bad." :D WHOO HOO!!!! Celebrate!

    Hello Dr Marion,

I was considering the programs from CIE, Grantham & Penn Foster.
Do you have any comments that might help me decide?

    Cheers!
    Mark

I became a member of DegreeInfo at around the same time I enrolled with Excelsior. Since then I have finished my A.A. in Liberal Arts and am currently working toward a Bachelor's degree.

Was a member for a few years before I finally got around to doing my DL graduate certificate of science (GradCertSc) in astronomy through Swinburne in 2009, graduated this April.

I had been working part-time without a raise for almost 5 years when I started. 2/3 of the way through my first semester, on the basis of being in grad school, I got a full-time job that paid better, and have since gotten a promotion and a raise.

Money well spent. I plan to continue to an MSc, even though it won't matter pay-wise.

My MA from HUX just appeared on my unofficial transcript last week. So now I really might be able to believe I am done. :) (I liked the program and do recommend it. But, wow, that was a long slog in my case!)

I know this is belated, but congratulations! You're definitely efficient. What I don't understand is how you have the time to slog out so many CLEP/DSST/ETCET and still post 1,906 posts in 7 months. You're cookin' man. Keep it up!

That's up in the air right now. I need to do some serious thinking about what I want out of the future. Originally I started the degree to teach in the online division of the B&M school where I teach now. (They let me teach in person without an MA, but to teach online I had to get the MA.) However, in the intervening years, the market has gotten crazy -- and not only that, they now require me to get an MA in the field I'd be teaching. And, um, that's not the MA I got. (I teach web design. I had no interest in studying that as a graduate topic!) Previously, they just wanted me to have any MA. So I might not be able to use the MA for its original purpose, but as it turns out, I found a research topic I really enjoy. But my options for getting a PhD in that topic are fairly limited. So I have to do some thinking.

Thanks, everyone! I found the HUX program a long time ago in alt.education.distance and then learned a lot more about it here, too. I got a lot of good advice from this site over the years.

I got to do my "I'm Done," thread and it felt so good. Thanks to Tcord for pointing me to AJU and the rest of the people here who put up with my BS. It just feels so good to get done with my AS in CJ. I have a long way to go so I will keep pushing forward! I have rejected the plan to go with Lamar as of now and will keep on going with AJU. I only need another couple of semesters to get my BS. I will have a RA AGS from Clovis CC this summer anyways.
