So, $71,208-$89,010 for the program? It'd better be reaaaaaaaaallllll good for that amount ... especially since it's non-licensure and UIU is not APA accredited. (I know APA doesn't accredit master's programs but their doctorate programs aren't APA accredited which is another minus against the school.) I find some of UIU's programs interesting but ... the price ...

I took another look at their website and ...
(a) yes, tuition is $8,901 per term; (b) yes, they did say enrollment dates are January, April, July, and October (4 terms a year); (c) yes, they did say that it took 48-60 hrs. for the degree; and (d) yes, they did say 12 hrs. per term.

NOTE: There's also the option of taking 9 hrs. per term, with tuition being $6,123 per term.

Just FYI - APUS's Master of Arts in General Psychology is 39 credit hours, not 36

... which makes the total program tuition $11,700. Thanx, TMW!

Man, I wish I had known about this back in October. I love the fact that it offers the 6 credit thesis option, too. 8 classes and a thesis and you've got your degree. Hmmm... Its a little wacky though that they won't actually admit you to the program until you've passed four classes. Makes it a little hard for people who rely on financial aid, since you have to be enrolled in a certificate/degree granting program to recieve FA.

Ah well... I'm going to stick with APU's program, for now at least.

I've been looking for an online masters in psychology, from a reputable school. I had considered the MS in Psychology from Palo Alto University, but I like that NSU offers the thesis option (I intend on pursuing a PhD in Psychology at some point in the future, so completing a master's thesis should improve my chances of gaining admission to such a program).

NSU will accept up to 2 courses in transfer toward the M.S. degree. :) Nothing wrong with APU of course, but if you're thinking of transferring, you may wish to do so soon, before completing many more classes.

I was just reading through that. I might actually take a few more courses at APU mainly going for the ones outside of the NSU curriculum, transfer two of the courses that match up to NSU's (like Social Psych and Physiological Biology) and then have some spare credits floating around out there for future use (especially if I do end up going for the LPC since I'll need 60 credits in Psychology/Counseling total along with the internship stuff).

I did it online!

I did a distance education, Master Psychology development and education at Uned. I did it because I live too far away and this university had a good reputation and so far I never regretted.

I noticed APUS requires courses in "Research Methods in Psychology" and "Statistical Methods Analysis" as preconditions of graduate admissions if the applicant has a Bachelors in an unrelated field. And, actually, most of the online RA DL programs from other universities require these prerequisite courses too. Since my Bachelors isn't in psychology, does anybody know where I can go to take those courses for credit? Those courses are usually upper division undergraduate courses so I can't go to a local junior college. Are there RA colleges with DL programs that will let me take courses withOUT forcing me to also pursue a degree/certificate at their school? I only know of Amberton U that lets you takes courses for credit w/o pursuing a degree/certificate, but alas, they don't have the 2 courses I need to satisfy the masters psychology admission requirement. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
