Tired of comparing $ for Masters in Psychology

There's not a lot of licensure for a plain Masters degree in General Psychology. LPC, LMFT, etc all require 50-60 hours of classes for licensure (In my state, its 60 hours), and the APU offering does provide 39 of that. It does miss out on some 'core' requirements for the LPC, but if you look around, you can pick those up from other school. In a little more than a grad cert beyond the degree, you have all the class hours done. (Note - this is not eligble for licensure in North Carolina as a psych associate due to the wording of the law out there... 30 hours of residency at the school for a degree that is often around 36 hours... No online love there.)

 

The purpose of this program is to provide an in-depth background in general psychology for the purposes of teaching (most likely at the community/junior college level), conducting research and as a springboard for doctoral studies. It's not intended to enable one to become licensed as an LPC or any other counseling discipline.

BTW, at $11,700, this is by far the cheapest online MA/MS in psychology out there. However, if we expand out a bit, The University of Alabama offers an online MA in Educational Psychology for $9360. Here is the breakdown (note: this is not a comprehensive list):
