Does Southern Methodist University allow for the distribution of their video lectures and course materials by any party other than SMU? You might be looking at copyright violations unless you have explicit permission to put these items on your personal web site.
Good point. Neither the Professors, Staffs, or anywhere says...the lectures cannot be distributed. Thanks for asking though! I just want to upload into my site, so it easy for me to access anywhere as well.
TEKMAN... Can you describe the way the courses are setup? Are there tests and what format are the tests? Also, how advanced is the math in the courses? Regards, Sebastian
The courses are taught class, then record to deliver to students by DVD or online for downloading. Students can access webmail, library, as well as Blackboard systems. The professors expect distance learning students as the same as in class students. Every single course has proctored exams, project, homework assignments, and etc. The tests are multiple choices, T/F, short answer, essays, and etc. All test are timed, some are open book, but closed notes. Some of them are opened notes, but closed book; and some are closed everything. I took AP Calculus BC in high school, and CLEP Algebra. For the admission only need Pre-Calculus for Telecommunication; however, for Electrical, Computer, Mechanical and etc...require math in depth. Tution: $ 3,192.00 per class (Plus Textbooks, No Additional Fee). I pay only $ 1,596.00 per class (for Military Discount). I pay out of my pocket because I want to save MGI Bill for the 21st Century MGI Bill program for full-time Ph.D. The Forbes Magazine ranks SMU #13 under National Universities.

Southern Methodist University (SMU) does have a very nicely maintained campus and is located in a relatively picturesque area of Dallas, TX. On the other hand, USD3192.00 per course must be intended to keep out the rift-raft. I drove by the campus a few times but was never able to stop what with all the flaming torches and pitchforks behind me.
..I never considered myself rift-raft...until now.. I'd be hard pressed to shell out 3k for a course...

Can you elaborate on how proctored exams are taken? I know my local community college offers an Other School Testing (OST) service, so I'm guessing I have to arrange something between SMU and my local CC. I never done this before, so it's all theory so far for me.
The proctored exams are taken with approved proctor by the SMU administrators. The proctor can be a Librarian, Military Officer, Educational Officer, HR Manager, and etc. I believe your immediate manager, friends, and relatives are not authorized. Usually the exam is sent to your proctor via email, once you are done with the exam; which can be faxed, scanned email, or snail mail.
The exams and overall workload seems the same as that for Bellevue University. Weekly timed online quizzes, term team project (some require an individual project too), weekly postings to assignments, and a timed, proctored comprehensive final at a Bellevue desiginated site (I was able to use the local library). Some courses also required a proctored midterm. All testing materials are sent directly to the proctor. The test materials including scrap paper are bundled by the proctor and returned to the school.
