Agreed on all points, including the snow....if someone told me the Patriots would go 11-5 right after Tom Brady blew-out his knee, I would have suggested mental health counseling. The question now is....with the big rumor being that Brady's rehab is behind schedule, does Belichick franchise Cassel to make sure he's here for at least part of next season?

    In other football news, I'm shocked (but probably shouldn't be) to see the Broncos sacked Mike Shanahan;

    My beloved Patriots. :(

Cleveland Browns was the other team, IIRC but I don't remember which year. It is kind of sad that San Diego Chargers go to the playoffs with an 8-8 record and New England can't advance with an 11-5 record.

My Cowboys DESERVE to stay home. That debacle in Philadelphia alone should serve notice to just how bad they were. Goodness. They so laid down and quit.

Who's going to feel the wrath of Jerry Steinbrenner Jones? :D

Jerry Jones should step down as the GM. We have folks that just dont care. I mean the attitude in Philadelphia was horrible. Goodness.

    Superbowl

Pittsburgh isn't entirely suprising. They are a good team that's always hanging around the upper levels of the AFC.

But the Phoenix Cardinals? Who saw that coming??

(Somebody must have gotten great odds betting on them early in the season in nearby Vegas.)

I have to say that I'm very pleased. I always favor the under-appreciated underdogs (that's why I'm a WAC fan I guess) and love-it-to-death when they step up.

If the Phoenix Cardinals can make it to the Superbowl, then there's always hope. Dreams really can come true.

And I guess that people will have to stop knocking Kurt Warner. A guy who goes from grocery store stocker to blue-collar arena football star to leading two different totally long-shot NFL teams into the Super Bowl has to have something happening. Kurt's playing his fan-favorite Cinderella role for the second time.

So Bill, does this mean that you're willing to make a small, friendly wager on the Cardinals?

And, just out of curiosity, who else did Kurt Warner lead to the Super Bowl?

Lots of people want to say that I'm crazy, but I try not to make it too easy for them.

My heart's with the Cardinals, but my head hasn't caught up yet.

The prudent dispassionate part of me says that Pittsburgh will have to be the favorite. But the reason that favorites are placed on those lofty pedestals is so that underdogs can knock them off.

The Cardinals playing the Steelers reminds me of Boise State playing Oklahoma.

Oh Billy, I was hoping you'd pony up a dollar, that's all. But it's OK, I asked a question and you answered it. I'll tell you what I'll do. If the Cards beat the Steelers then I'll buy you some lunch, the next time you're in my neighborhood. No strings attached. OK?

Wow this thread has been around for two seasons. Let's see the Cards and the Steelers... Hmmm. I live in Arizona but I grew up in Western Pa.

But the Black and Yellow rules in my heart forever... Go Steelers!

I like the Steelers but the Cards have never won a superbowl so I gotta pull for the underdogs. As a plus, if Warner wins he most likely will make it to the Hall of Fame

Minutes before kickoff. I wouldn't mind if the Cards won, I just don't think they will. If Warner can remain upright then the Cards have a chance. Can the Cards offensive line stand up to the Steelers defense? I'm saying no. That's the game.

I have a passing interest. Out of envy, I want the Cardinals to win. One for the NFC and two, I still want the Cowboys to be tied with the Steelers, 49ers as having the record Super Bowl wins....5. So I will be running during the first half of the game.

This is hard to believe, they franchised him. I thought they wanted a couple of first rounders for him. I wonder why the Vikings didn't try for him unless the word is that he's a system QB. The Vikes had to give up 4th round for sage Rosenfeld who hasn't much of a track record. Heck, Shaub went for 2 2nd round picks a few years ago. I wonder what's up.

    Bad move in my opinion.

Then again, I was a raving lunatic when Bill Belichick decided to start Tom Brady instead of Damon Huard after Drew Bledsoe went down, so what the Hell do I know? :D

This magazine predicted the Carolina Panthers to win the NFC for the past two years. I don't rely too heavily on their predictions. It could be considered a bad omen to to get high ratings from SI magazine.
