For Computer Professionals (Masters Degree like MCA) from India, If you are planning to do your evaluation in ICDEL(International Consultants of Delaware, I'd say 'NO'. DO not do your evaluation services with ICDEL. They will drive you crazy. Wrong statements and no proper communication.....So much frustration you will get. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME and ENERGY in yelling with those people.

Just go for WES, you can find your status, document received or not etc...Easy and quick response.
I am the one very seriously affected by those ICDEL. I don't want others to do the same mistake and suffer. Just my advise.

Hi geetha - This is interesting information. How long a process was it?

Are there other members who have had difficulties with such services?

When I had my credit hours evaluated through AACRAO prior to applying to Thomas Edison State College (TESC) I opted for the expedited evaluation, at additional cost of course, to ensure timely evaluation and transcript delivery to the school. The service from AACRAO was very prompt and worth the fee, though they mislabeled a couple of courses. I had to send TESC the actual course name and description from the originating school. For example, I did not want to have a computer science course (application development) show up as a computer applications (COTS) course.

You are not always given the choice.
But in many cases there is a list of more than one accepted Evaluation services.
Some colleges work with only one, I think Excelsior works with ECE mostly and for some countries with Spartran.
I had evaluation by WES done before and was very happy with their service.

    Hi,

That is a very "weird" situation, primarily because International Consultants of Delaware Inc is a member of NACES.

    NACES Members

Most of the firms that provide credential evaluation services that are NACES affiliated are usually pretty good. If you paid money and are not satisfied with the results, I would advise you to make a formal complaint with NACES. Also, if you have paid with a credit card, I would try to dispute that transaction with your credit card company, since you didn’t get the proper services from them.

    Regards,
    Sebastian

I found Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) to be worse than useless. They are, in my experience, without doubt the worst of the evaluation services available - and that's saying something amid a profession infested by cowboys and chancers.

There is no government regulation of these bandits, and consumers at their mercy are daily being fleeced. The self-regulatory bodies are a joke, and simply function as advocacy groups operating entirely in their members self interest, to the detriment of consumers.

This occupation is a low-overhead cash cow for the unscrupulous. You will note that most will not accept credit cards in payment. This is because of the number of transactions likely to be challenged by consumers unhappy with service, and the potential long-term threat of scrutiny by regulators.

One of THE best that I feel stands apart from this gang of sleazy operators is Educational International, Inc., and its founder, Joel Slocum. Unfortunately, he does not do course by course evaluations, but if a document by document eval will suffice, he's yer man. Let me give him a plug:

I had my credentials evaluated by ECE and had a good experience. This was back in 2003.

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I had no other posts where Education International Inc. (owned by Joel Slocum) was mentioned. Anyways, I had my Foreign Education Degree certified by Joel Slocum, back in the year 1998, however, it seems that this company (Education International Inc.) does not operate now anymore. I tried to call the phone numbers and also send an email, however, both are not working.

Has anyone tried to contact Joel (Education International) recently? Do you happen to know the whereabouts of this company? Please advise.

Thanks a lot ! Hope to hear back from someone....:)

Kizmet, I'd have linked to LMGTFY, so you're nicer than I am.

Thank you for the link. However, I did this home work (googling all related sites) already before posting it here in this forum. There are no whereabouts of Education international and all contact info of Joel Slocum (phone numbers and emails) are not working. In a desperate attempt to figure out what are my alternate options, I am trying to post in this thread.

If anybody else has had similar issue trying to contact the Education international organization, then please post your opinions and options that you have pursued.
    Thanks again.

I recommend you contact SpanTran. They are very responsive and fast. If your foreign credentials are fully legitimate you will have no issues with them. The also offer a service where they will contact your institution directly which really accelerates the process.

    Hi

I have used Josuf Silny & Associates(jSilny.com), couple of times. I didn't face any issues. For my safety, I used Return courier, for tracking purpose.

My suggestion, if any one is interested, please go for document-by-document along with GPA(does cost extra), as I understood universities are looking for GPA equivalence.

Note: Also, make sure to check the university site, as some universities are specifically asking from a particular Educational Evaluators.

    Thanks
    Shanker Karra
