Are there more interesting ones than those at this site, http://training.fema.gov/IS/crslist.asp, or is that it? lol

I understand that TESC will give 25 credits for FEMA courses. Do I send them the certs or is there some place I request a list of them from FEMA and they send them directly to TESC?

Also, I don't understand how the ACE things work. How many ACE credits do they accept? I've gone over and over the web site and can't find the info.

    Thanks!

Ding, dong! What's the matter with me! The transcript request is right there in plain sight or it would be if I wasn't blind. Maybe it was the red lettering that threw me off. (sigh)

If you are enrolled in a degree program or have a credit bank account, complete the FEMA courses and have a free trasnscript sent to TESC. The link you provided lists all the current FEMA Independent Study Courses.

You can get more than 25 credits listed on your TESC transcript, it is just 25 of those credits that can be used in a degree program. Do not use any recommendations for credit from the FEMA website, as that is not what TESC uses.

You do not have to have any thing to do with the American Council on Education to get credit with TESC for the FEMA Independent Study Courses.

Do a search in old threads and any will see much written about FEMA Independent Study Courses.

You may also want to take the National Fire Academy Independent Study Courses Q118, Q318 and Q534. TESC gives credit for these. You may or may not have to use ACE to get credit for Q118 and Q318 depending on who at TESC handles your review.

Thanks, Michael. I saw where you had posted a lot on this topic and I'm sure you get tired of going over the same thing for newbies.

I also saw your list of FEMA that TESC accepts, so I'm making sure the courses I take match up with those.

I haven't filled out an application with TESC yet. I was going to wait until I got more FEMA courses completed and then send that transcript and have my college transcript sent to them.

My son has already applied there and at EC so we're waiting on evaluations.

TESc will actually accept 27 FEMA credits for certain degrees. The AAS Occupational Studies with an Emergency and Disaster Management concentration will allow 27. That is precisely what I did.
