    Ted,

I recall that New Jersey City U used to have an online grad accounting program. I can't find anything on the website to confirm that they current ly offer this though. They do offer online classes.

Interestingly enough, if you go to this website http://newlearning.njcu.edu/dl/degree.htm, you might get the impression that their MA in Educational Technology is their only online degree, but if you go to this website http://web.njcu.edu/sites/profstudies/msaccounting/content/program_objectives.asp, it clearly states that the MS in Accounting is available both onsite and online.

Hi, Carole-on-the-island! Well, I am manic-depressive and, unfortunately, my father applied for Social Security disability on my behalf (this was over my protestations, as I had hoped that my father might offer some good career advice on how to get that first good post-MBA job). This leaves me in a situation wherein I cannot afford to work (people who have been out of the work force for some time often re-enter with lower paying no benefits jobs, but I have $2000 a month in meds to pay for ... currently paid by Medicare/Medicaid ... and so would need very good health insurance if and when I return to work). Many people might consider me a huge waste of government money, but this gives me time to do various volunteer work and also gives me a lot of free time. Also, I am divorced and childless, so I don't have those time committments. That gives me a great deal of time to read various distance learning guides and hang at various distance learning boards.

Gosh Ted, I'm sorry -- I didn't mean to pry! I sure admire you for devoting your time and help for others. I'm very impressed that John Bear takes the time to post here too ..... I've used his books since 1989. I think I'll have to visit here less often even tho it's been enlightening. *Some* people responding in some threads are just too mean and I don't need bad attitudes intruding on my day! PM me if you want to chat, k?

Ah, it's okay! Most of the people here seem to like me. Of course, one will always run into some jerks wherever one goes, but I've learned not to care what they think. I've been reading John Bears's Guides since 1992 (acquired the 9th edition, 1985, from the City University Library's discard pile) and have posted here since 2005. I've also familiarized myself with other guides such as those by such individual authors as James P. Duffy, April Helm, and Marcy Thorson and those by such institutional authors as Barron's Guide, Kaplan's Guide, Peterson's Guide, and Princeton Review. I also either currently post or have posted at degreeboard, degreediscussion, degreeforum, degree.net, elearners.com, and usnews.com/education. So, I've had the opportunity to learn a bit about distance learning.
