Contact them tomorrow by phone, tell them you just discovered the program but it seems like a perfect fit, and ask them whether you can apply even though the deadline has recently passed.

I mean, why not? The worst thing they can do is say no.

National Louis University's EdD in Adult and Continuing Education www.nl.edu/graduate/adult_education.cfm is mentioned in the short-residency section of Bears' Guide (BG15, 164-165; BG16, 176). From the website itself: "Classes meet eight weekends during the year and in three two-week summer institutes." It might be of value for those that can make the residencies. I was, of course, in error to include the other programs. Sorry.

Yeah, that's my issue. I liked their admissions process too. They didn't rely on the GRE (in fact they don't require it). Instead, they used a portfolio and interview process.

I thought that they took a cohort every year. I didn't know it was biannually. Oh well. :(

Indiana Wesleyan University www.indwes.edu offers an EdD in Organizational Leadership. At $590/hour, this 51-hour program runs a total of $30,090.

Purdue University www.purdue.edu offers a Cohort PhD in Educational Administration. They emphasize that, while they use online techno;ogies, they do not consider this to be an online degree. The tuition portion of their website was a bit clunky, but tuition appears to be $265.60 for in-staters and $738.05 for out-of-staters. At those rates, this 63-hour doctorate runs a tally of $16,732.80 for in-staters and $46,497.15 for out-of-staters.

Bears' Guide (BG15, 179 and BG16, 191-192) reports a short-residency PhD in Teaching and Learning with emphasis in Higher Education from the University of North Dakota www.und.edu . Tuition for the 60-hour program is $225.23/hour ($13,513.80 total) for North Dakota residents, $275.88/hour ($16,552.80 total) for Minnesota residents, $337.84/hour ($20,270.40 total) for Manitoba, Montana, Saskatchewan, and South Dakota residents, and $601.35/hour ($36,081.00) for all other out-of-staters. Given the residency requirements, it might have been better reported as a non-traditional residency program. They also offer non-traditional residential EdD and PhD degrees in Educational Leadership.
