I will soon complete my B.S. in criminal justice from Southwest University (NA). I am now looking at completing an MBA online, RA, and affordable. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have a list (which I have been building for the last two years) of something on the order of 304  DL MBA programs (RA, NA, and foreign GAAP-equivalent). Other than specifying RA, how else would you want me to pare dowen the list to more manageable proportions? Do you, for example, have a specific major in mind?

I meant to say "pare down."

You could try Chadron State College. Now that's inexpensive.

Does that mean they no longer are?

I read somewhere where RBS is offering its own MBA. However, I can't seem to find this information on the RBS's site. The deal just gets better if it's a Luton's MBA that's awarded.

    http://www.regent.ac.za/index.php?id=aboutus

Regent Business School was established to satisfy the urgent demand for management education in Southern Africa. Regent Business School is one of the few business schools in South Africa with an established association with a large overseas university. From inception, this link was established with the University of Luton in the United Kingdom to offer a range of business and management programmes by distance and supported learning to Southern African students. Regent Business School (RBS) continues to benefit enormously from the alliance with the University of Luton.

Regent is registered as a private higher education institution by the Department of Education in South Africa. In addition, the Council on Higher Education (CHE) has accredited all Regent’s programmes including the Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) degree and Master of Business Administration degree (MBA). Regent offers a range of fully accredited programmes from one year programmes to post-graduate qualifications, adding to its range of management qualifications in line with the changing requirements of the Southern African market.

The RBS distance and supported learning programmes provide a professional educational qualification that will equip you with practical business knowledge to enable you to succeed in the highly competitive work situation. RBS is mindful of the need for its programmes to reflect the best international business practice. The study material includes case studies and simulation of real buisiness situations specifically designed to reflect cutting edge developments in the work situation and their impact on business practice.

RBS is strongly committed to developing business and entrepreneurial skills in Southern Africa while ensuring our students a competitive edge in a rapidly changing business environment.

    Ted rocks!

Does the original poster care about AACSB options? I wonder.

Not to steal from the OP, but I was thinking about pursuing an MBA program once I complete my BSBA in IT. Right now I'm looking at Excelsior's MIS program and TESC's CIS program. They are comparable Business degrees.

Could you give an idea of what considerations there are when looking at an MBA from an RA school other than cost?

I can think of a few.

    GPA Requirement
Forms of Distance Learning (CBT, Textbook, Video)
    Thesis Requirement

    Ted,

I would prefer a management or public admnistration major. Thanks.

Thanks for all the replies. I am leaning towards Northcentral's MBA program. It can be completed online and it is reasonably priced. Has anyone had experience with Northcentral's MBA program?

I don't think anyone has mentioned the University of South Dakota yet. They're not just RA, they're also AACSB, and their all-online MBA program is extremely inexpensive, like nine grand for the whole thing.

I thought the MBA program was excellent. The courses were very interesting and the work was comprehensive. I have no problem recommending NCU.

The University of Leicester offers the MBA by distance learning for 7,300 pounds sterling. I don't know a lot about the program--we don't offer it yet through our offices--but it might be worth a look. Currently, you would work with the UofL directly. See:
