    It's actually 15 weeks (12 credits), but still.......wow.

My capstone project for MSPP (Master's level) took an entire academic year.

When I look at the course objectives, I see why so many degree mill grads defend their degree - they did some work and believe they accomplished something...

Yes, The Dissertation Journey is a good book for navigating the Dissertation Process, but is certainly not, IMHO, to be used as a text. In addition, to use the Pocket Guide to APA Style as a text...good for Freshman Comp...not good for doctoral study. For doctoral study - it's the APA Publication Manual.

    Blah, blah, blah.........

Most companies don't care much about doctorates to begin with, it is really hard to believe that anybody would care about a degree from Brayer State.

Even if someone really benefited from a degree from BS University, it is unlikely that they would advertise this everywhere. I know I would keep it quiet as I wouldn't want people to know that my doctorate was unaccredited and that my promotion was given because a degree with little merit. I know few people would use this information against me so I would certainly not publish it on a public site.

The post is most likely coming from a shill from BS University. This with the hopes that serves as testimonial for others to invest in this wonderful opportunity.

Testimonials without a name that can't be verified are pretty worthless, there is nothing wrong with wanting to learn from a unaccredited program but making someone believe that one advanced because of an unaccredited doctorate when accredited doctorates are of not much use for advancement in the industry is ridiculous.

Yes, their faculty is really impressive. Take a look at Professor Shafei that is an Egyptian lawyer with his two graduates degrees from BS University.

    khaled shafei | faculty

Their faculty is really credible and can't wait to enroll for my PhD from BS University, I might be lucky enough and land a job as a prestigious faculty for BS University.

    Gimme a break!!

    My favorite is the school's owner, who (according to his faculty listing) managed to "earn" 3 doctorates and a second Bachelor's degree in the span of 14 years while simultaneously earning a legitimate graduate certificate and Master's degree from City University in Washington (presumably while also working as a nurse);

    dominick | faculty

Sorry.....there just aren't enough hours in the day.

I wonder why he did not give himself another doctorate from BS University to make it 4 doctorates.

The guy is a real joke, I wonder why would somebody ruin a resume with so many bogus credentials and joke degrees.

We can be mocking this school all day, the only reason to get a BS degree is to be able to teach at BS University that does not seem to be like a high paying job.

Why someone would invest more than a penny in the school is beyond my comprehension but if you google BS degree you will find quite a few people citing this degree. One is Dr. Cecil Holland that ruined his EdD from Nova with a BS degree

School of Health Sciences - Departments - Division of Nursing - Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Division of Nursing - Faculty and Staff

I guess an interesting study would be to find out why people are so eager to get credentials from bogus places like BS. Many people are faculty with an inferiority complex that desperately need a doctorate to prove themselves and they fall for this out need for recognition when a BS degree causes the opposite effect.

Breyer State University is not accredited by an accreditation agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education

Accreditation is a voluntary process, and in fact, the U.S. Department of Education states that accreditation itself is a voluntary process. There is no mandate by federal law for a School, College or University to be accredited. Many good schools are not accredited. Also, each accreditor has their own unique standards and, thus, there is no national consistency in institutional accreditation. Accreditation in the United States is awarded by non-US governmental agencies. Again, accreditation is strictly a voluntary option in the United States and many high-quality, legitimate and legal Colleges and Universities and other institutions of higher education operate today without accreditation.

If this is the case, why pay BS University when you can give a degree to yourself based on your readings at your local library and your 10 years experience as a car sales man.

You can buy a UNIVERSITY/DO IT YOURSELF/SOFTWARE/KIT and save some money. To make it look credible, you can register a domain at godaddy.com for $10 bucks with the University name of your choice. You can even a use more convincing name such as Vermont State or Unites States College of New Hampshire that sounds better than BS University.

Bachelor College Degrees.com UNIVERSITY/DO IT YOURSELF/SOFTWARE/KIT ONLINE NAME | eBay

At the end of the day, RA is not mandatory so a godaddy registration should be sufficient to claim a degree in some states.

We would need to collect some good testimonials on how our school has helped so many to land jobs as CEOs, professors, etc.

We can contact some of the people posting as shills for BS and give them some commission based on referrals.

We can contact some of the adjuncts or full time professors that already hold a MS or MBA and offer them a free of charge honorary PhD or DBA from our non RA but legal school.

We can also open a wikipedia article that talks how good the university is and call ourselves wikipedia accredited.

We can create a long article in the web site that explains how people with non RA degrees have made it to become CEOs, Professors, etc and how useless an inconvenient is RA accreditation that just boosts the price of the tuition fees.

We can have a bundle deal that offers prestigious professors positions from our schools with a PhD. We can mention that these professors will made forever part of our faculty and displayed in our godaddy driven web site.

I have been in this forum too long to learn all the tricks to make money by selling fake credentials that is scary.

The domain name "fort-wayne-state-university.info can be purchased for $1.99 at GoDaddy...

    That would be unethical.

One of the people I submitted for "outing" on Good Morning America several years ago was a physician at a Canadian hospital with a legitimate M.D. from a Canadian university, but he found it necessary, for reasons known only to him, to pollute his resume with a Columbia State Ph.D. Needless to say, the Ph.D. vanished from his online profile after GMA aired that segment.

I think as sites as Godaddy, wikipedia, facebook, etc are becoming the authority at the eyes of the people, you will see more places claiming to be accredited by them the same way BS claims that is state approved. Check the institute of professional financial managers

"IPFM is recognized by Wikipedia as a British Professional Body."

Institute of Professional Financial Managers, IPFM - Recognition

So we can open a University and then open a facebook group to claim "facebook recognized University".

We can even offer a DBA is Social Networking accredited by facebook. The program can be given to those that show experience of 1200 hrs of facebook interaction.

PhD degrees from places like BS University satisfy egos and vanity. Some people just have the need for recognition and admiration and the PhD seems to satisfy this need. I'm sure that the person with the EdD from Nova needed the title "PhD" as he probably felt that the EdD was not respected enough.

It is interesting to see how people buy paper just to feel good about themselves. BS University and similar places cover this need and that is why still in business.

I still think makes more sense to open your own website and grant yourself a degree, it is exactly the same thing but at least is cheaper. If it makes you feel better, you can grant degrees to your friends and relatives so you have alumni.

RF Valve - What PhD program at an AACSB school do you teach at? I have been trying to get into one, but all the ones that I talk to say they get 100 applicants for 3-5 slots. I would love to find an AACSB school where there is little interest and I actually have a shot of being admitted to! Thanks!

I am in Canada, the reason why we dont get many applicants is because the degrees are 5 years full time and require a GMAT. The program is five years but the average is 6 years. Very few people are willing to stay in school during six years and have the brains to get a high score.
This is a full time non distance PhD that requires full time attendance and has little financial support.
If still interested send me a PM.

ODU is a great choice, but to clarify, an EdS is not a doctoral program. It's usually considered a terminal degree, but that's not the same thing.
