No, at Excelsior DSST Ethics in America is lower level, ECE Ethics: Theory and Practice is upper level.
The ECE exam is a little more difficult that the DSST version. The ECE exam was about 160 questions. A third of those were regular multiple choice. The remaining two thirds were scenario questions, in which I had to read a paragraph and then answer about 10 or so questions about ethics questions in the story. Ex. "Who is acting like a Utilitarian?" A. Bill B. Jill C. Mark D. Steve. The Dsst version is 100 questions. 30 being regular multiple choice, and 70 short scenario questions that have YES/NO choices. (50% chance of guessing the right answer.) I used a book from the library "Encyclopedia of Ethics" to study both. Also, the EC practice exams are very useful, because they used many of the same scenarios in both practice and real exams. Only the questions were different. For the DSST version, the short study section in the "Official DSST Study Guide" is more than enough.
My favorite way of preparing was to check out a book from the library in which the table of contents matched the exam outline. I passed the ECE Ethics by the hair on my chin. Good luck!
I was only going to take the ECE Ethics exam for upper credit, but I found out Excelsior gives credit for both exams. I took both to put some more credits in the Humanities column, and to boost my GPA. At $20 a credit hour for the dantes exam, the price couldn't be beat.
