Perhaps I can then refer to myself as having a virtual DBA degree?

regardless of the above comments, I still earned a doctorate degree from Breyer State University, Alabama. I sure hope the degree looks as nice as it is represented on their website.

It will look great in my office

That's nice, because your office is the only place where your degree will have any credibility.

    If you don't mind sharing:

    1. Since Cambria Press knows nothing about your dissertation, could you try again and let us know where one might find your dissertation?

    2. Who were the members of the committee?

    3. Since the catalog is vague, can you enlighten us on the requirements for earning a DBA at Breyer State?

    4. Were there comp exams? If so, can you describe the process for us?

    5. Why is the heck did you choose to attend Breyer over an accredited university?

    6. Did you obtain any financial assistance from your employer? Does your employer know you have an unaccredited degree?

Get used to these type of questions, as the burden of proof is on you to show any type of legitimacy for your degree.

    If you don't mind sharing:

    Actually I do mind

    1. Since Cambria Press knows nothing about your dissertation, could you try again and let us know where one might find your dissertation?

Unfortunately, it is a secret that must be kept within the BSU alumni2. Who were the members of the committee?

Another BSU alumni secret unfortunately3. Since the catalog is vague, can you enlighten us on the requirements for earning a DBA at Breyer State?

I will have to only state that it is very similar in format as NCU, which I was at one time also enrolled.4. Were there comp exams? If so, can you describe the process for us?

    5. Why is the heck did you choose to attend Breyer over an accredited university?

    Tuition costs
    6. Did you obtain any financial assistance from your employer? Actually, I am self employed.

Does your employer know you have an unaccredited degree? No employer, however the accounts in which I am involved with are aware and applaud my commitment to continue studies.
Get used to these type of questions, as the burden of proof is on you to show any type of legitimacy for your degree.

I already can see that...after all, this thread seems rather long at 140+ posts and counting.

Your answers speak for themselves - you've changed your tune on the availability of the "dissertation." So much for adding to academic knowledge.

There is no way to verify who supervised your dissertation to check their credentials in relation to your subject area.

Since you are not willing to share the requirements for the "degree" and the requirements are not posted on the Breyer State University website, there is no way to verify what the graduation requirements are. (Unlike a real university; I'll use Capella as an example: https://www.capella.edu/inc/pdf/catalogs/Catalog_0708no1_rd.pdf)

In conclusion, I submit that your degree better look good on the wall; because your degree is fradulent. I don't know what you paid in tuition to Breyer, but if you wanted a "nice looking" degree, you could have save a few thousand dollars and went to the local printer...

I think back2cali is enjoying a game of cat and mouse. When credibility goes out the window, it is probably a good time to discontinue rebuttals with build from logical arguments - one then becomes the mouse.

It seems that most posts in this thread are rather useless - no one is going to convince back2cali to not use the DBA he 'earned' to bolster his credentials to his clientelle. He obviously did inform clients of his 'accomplishment' as he received correspondence whereas he was referred to as Doctor...

I do find that back2cali made a valid point when he pointed out that most people do not know about accrediation... this particularly plays in his favor as he is self employed, however, the time bomb is ticking, as surely some future client of back2cali' will know about the worthlessness of a Breyer State degree and he will be exposed for what he is... a charlatan.

    Time is on our side...

I would think that if cost was the primary concern you would have enrolled in one of the South African universities instead of Breyer. You'd probably spend even less money and, more importantly, you wouldn't be involved in conversations like this where others scoff at your credential.

You can refer to yourself in any way you want. It is others' references you should be concerned about.
You could take care of this yourself with a color laser printer. Why pay BSU?
    Or cell. Good luck.

Outrageous. Congratulations. If anyone had doubts about BSU being a mill, you've cleared it up.

I must applaud all of you on your due diligence of responding to what I currently have earned, a unreputable, unaccredited illegal in some if not most states doctorate which could have most likely been obtained as you say, by perhaps visiting sites such as:

Glendale University, Alameda and the like and have it simply given to me based on a resume and life exprience.

The only closure I receive for myself is that I completed 2 years of coursework, research and above all else, commitment to a higher level of additional education.

In my response prior in which I failed to respond to the several questions inquired upon by my degree requirements at Breyer, one must know that it is aparent that in adding additional comments on the curriculum, dissertation etc, would only feed the fire of what I know to be an ongoing display on continued bashing as we call it towards the school in which I completed my degree from.

I now hold a unaccredited, controversial DBA degree and that is the true fact of the subject.

I have stated that I will be honest in my questioning of my degree and would expect to have inquiry into the school I completed hte DBA degree with, why I chose it and above all things, a discussion of accreditation.

I must state that although my experience with Breyer State University was a good experience, at least in what I wanted out of the degree program, I would be hesitant to encourage anyone to enroll towards a degree with this school due to the many issues still in existence. There are few choices in the doctorate level that have inexpensive tuition, perhaps you are correct, UNISA could have also been a better alternative as well.

I am still proud of my accomplishment and at least I live in Alabama, so I should find my degree to be valid at least here for the moment.

    Shall we compare then...

    Breyer State University doctoral requirements:

    http://www.breyerstate.com/degree-completion-doctoral.htm

    NorthCentral University D.B.A. requirements:

    http://www.ncu.edu/dpro_spec.asp?degree_program_code=DBA&dp_version_id=7&dpro_section_main_id=37

Sorry, but the programs are NOT similar in my humble opinion.

My advice is simple, you should NOT advertise your "degree" in any way shape or form. If you paid the money to enrich your life, OK; but you do not have a doctoral education IMHO. If you advertise your "degree", someday it will come back to bite you.

Yep. Maybe not in your individual case, but yep.
But who knows? If a tree falls in a forest....

No one knows what you've done because it isn't part of the canon.
This is a chicken s**t response, typicall of millers. Your degree won't stand on its own. Now, you won't defend it by simply discussing its outcomes.

You have no doctorate. You only--fraudulently--claim one. That conclusion, by the way, you bring on yourself.
Living in Alabama won't inure you to your situation. Claiming a degree from such a "thing" is fraudulent. Enjoy.

There is no magic law stating that academic fraud is acceptable if the bogus degree was bestowed in the resident's state. If anyone claims a doctorate based on a diploma received from Breyer State University then that person is an academic fraud. Breyer State University is not a university. It is a business that collects huge sums of money to print up novelty pieces of paper for people.

thank you again for your outstanding posts. In light however, I will still see myself as holding a Doctorate degree from Breyer State University.

I will say that I received my new business cards and having the DBA designation is a nice sight to see.

You could have done that without paying BSU all that money. Not a wise business decision by a "doctor" of that field.

Enjoy it. Hope it doesn't explode!

FWIW -- the person self-identified as "Back2Cali" on MySpace describes himself as a 24-year-old male from Seattle, Washington.

The URL www.back2cali.com is registered to an address in Bellevue (adjoining Seattle) Washington.

On Amazon, the person who uses the nickname "Back2Cali" is Robert Ryu.

At www.xanga.com/rcryu, Robert Ryu is identified as 24 years old, and has the title "Doctor."

On 43things.com, Back2Cali expresses a wish to live in California , be a princess, read the Bible, travel the world, be successful, make millions, write a book, and never have kids, among other things.

The back2cali who asks questions on tripadvisor.com claims to be a young Canadian woman.

And on wwwc2.men4sexnow.com, Back2Cali is a "professional bi-guy...just looking for another hot man to share hot times with."

Wonder if any (or all) of these are the proud Breyer State alumnus?
