After going through the faculty listings, I find that of the 48 faculty listed claiming academic doctorates, only 13 have them from accredited schools. Many of the 35 (65%) with doctorates from unaccredited schools have them from BSU. This is absurd.

    Notes:

The Dean of Faculty has a Ph.D. from BSU. The Dean of Faculty!

Two faculty members list Doctor of Nursing Degrees from BSU! They have a nursing school? Someone tell the ANA, quick!

1 with a doctorate from Webster U. is listed as either having a Ph.D., DBA, or DM, depending on where you look.

Two have degrees from something called the University of NorthWest in either Brooklyn or Wyoming. (Common mistake.) It has a Pakistani .edu address, though.

One has a doctorate from Nova Southeastern, but also has two more doctorates from....you guessed it, Breyer State.

Finally, the Registrar has a doctorate from....c'mon, you can do it....YES! Breyer State University! (Sounds of crowd cheering in the background.)

If this this was any worse, it would be Century University. (Or is that the other way around?)

I don't know that there is much to discuss further on this topic. Most of us, including back2cali, seem to understand what a Breyer State degree is and isn't. As usual, it's Dave Wagner and his nonsensical arguments and conclusions against all others. Time to stop feeding the troll.

I hope the original poster comes back to describe the doctoral process at Breyer State, such as the requirements and who guided them through the process.

More on Breyer State University's license

To be fair, I would like to revisit my previous posting (in a now-closed thread) about Breyer State University's operating license.

I pointed out that BSU was licensed by ADPE, rather than ACHE. This point is correct, but under current Alabama law, all "private, proprietary institutions", such as BSU, fall within ADPE's purview. In other words, it is not "surprising" that BSU is licensed by ADPE; in fact, it appears that BSU is required to seek licensure from ADPE. The University of Phoenix, an accredited school, is also licensed by ADPE, apparently because it too is a "private, proprietary institution."
This point remains valid. The vast majority of ADPE-licensed institutions are career schools.

    Oh! Oh! Oh!

    Let me guess.

It’s the friendly folks from the BSU Bursar's Office who guide doctoral students through the degree process, and the requirements are payment by Check, Credit Card, or Cash.

I don't know if this is the case, but it does make an interesting point. It does not matter how much work back2cali put into his degree process, the question is how much effort was required? Without a neutral, third party assessment from a US DoE or CHEA recognized accreditor (or ACE or a licensure exam), we don't know. I can't take the student's word for it, or the word of another unaccredited "doctorate" holder, because they have a vested interest in how their credentials are percieved. This is also why I can't take the schools word for it.

This is unnecessary and adds nothing to the discussion. Please refrain from such attacks.

That will be also true for a graduate from any university, regardless accreditation.

I guess, I will have triple bias then! (NA, State, and RA) :D

Not true. An accredited university has a neutral third party, the accreditor, validating the process. Not so of an unaccredited school, unless they are evaluated by ACE or an outcome evaluation, such as taking the bar exam or another licensure.

Amazing. Great detective work as usual. Find it interesting how some will still try to defend BSU since they claim an unacredited degree.

My question to you: How do you know is a neutral party? There is no way that a person or an organization can stay partial or neutral, there is always the element of bias, and if you join the club you can play. And I like to do that, because I can play in all the clubs! (NA, State, and RA) sweet! :D

Amazing how we tend to forget things in the past, and how some detective work was not use in investigating certain university(MIGS) with "suppose" accreditation from the Mexican Goverment. I guess we learn from our mistakes. But my hat is always will be off to Dr. Douglas, he earned it! But I guess this is not the subject in discussion!
    :D Indeed great detective work!

Wow this too funny of course that I see the point that you want to come across, but this requirement that you say, has been required from all the colleges I have attended! :D

This is uninformed. MIGS not only had the approval of the state government in Mexico--as a part of the CEU--it was also listed by the International Handbook of Universities. Either meet GAAP criteria.

Perhaps "Vinipink" wasn't around when I was reporting all the bad things about MIGS as they developed? Perhaps he/she doesn't realize I notified Florida authorities that MIGS was continuing to operate in Florida--causing them to remove all such information from their website and to set up phone and mail in Mexico?

A lot of very knowledgeable people were pulled into the MIGS thing, including many of the operators of MIGS.

Hey, I would have rather have stayed away from the whole thing. But neither Bear nor I was fooled. As things developed and things were found out, we dealt with them publicly--on this forum. Where were you?

(It's amazing how quickly some people turn to this matter--ignorantly as we see above. Is that all they have?)

So to make it clear Rich I am a he. I have been around this forum as long as you if not before you, when it was altavista or whatever since 1996. And the only person that called as he saw it was Dr. Levicoff meaning that you made a mistake before all the things exploded in your face and then you started to reported all the bad things about MIGS as they developed. But anyway that ignorant part of your past it is where is in the past. Any event is all good, I have nothing but admiration for you since you when to whole lot to finally finish your Dr. and I mean whole a lot.

You are wrong. Nothing "exploded" in anyone's face. I disassociated myself with MIGS right after the Levicoff lawsuit, but due to things involved with the administration of the program. You don't know what you're talking about--but choose to talk anyway. Plus, you're off-topic with your original ad hominem, which makes you doubly wrong. Congratulations, and good luck at Argosy.

"Sure" Thanks I will be fine!

In math two negative makes a positive or is two wrong does not make a right? I don't know about all this "original ad hominem" I did not study Latin, I just know about the hard stuff "math!" But thanks for the free classes!

Math, perhaps. But not composition or grammar. (You opened that door.)

What about my involvement with MIGS bugs you, anyway? What specifics do you have? Or are you just a parrot? And why do you feel the need, seven years later, to talk about it? At least have something new to say. (As if!)

Here's one for you: why does someone (you) enroll in programs to earn degrees he or she already holds? Not degrees at the same level(s), but the same degrees? Were the first ones inferior? Placeholders, perhaps, until you could get real ones? Sure looks that way. That behavior alone is more damning to that school than most of the things said about it. Nice work.

The grammar thing does not bother a bit it does not pay for my bills or food, house and cars etc.. and that is old stuff and for that I pay person like your self, that have good grammar skills so they can correct my bad grammar. I have metion before I am not defending anything I have done nor I am promoting anything and you already know that anyway. What ever decision good or bad I have done is mine alone and I guess I will live with that! I am pretty sure the same reasons you had to quest or persue inferior degrees as well. But any way still have nothing but admiration for you Rich. There are same degree but do not have the same concentration which is accounting my field, it is okay that you want the MIGS situation deep in the sewer, but never run for politics, it will come to the surface. :D
