CSU Sacramento MS Accountancy

CSU Sacramento is offering a new online Master of Science in Accountancy. This is an AACSB accredited degree with minimal prerequisite requirements.

Actually, it is new (as of Fall 06) - I think the tax program has been around a while.

The thing that strikes me is that this AACSB MS can be had for the price of all the CERTIFICATE programs being talked about here from NON-AACSB schools!

$390 x 30 credits...$11,700 for the whole program. A little more for you money than Ellis, Golden Gate, etc.

It is however, synchronous with courses 5pm-7:30 Pacific 2 nights per week. 6 week classes.

Sorry, I guess I just get excited when I see a good deal. I think I'll sign up.

I'm sure this program is great, but they need to be more flexible. An April 1 application deadline for the Fall session? Sorry, Sacramento State, but you're no USC. It's things like this that make me happy there are more market driven universities to provide alternatives.

 

Looks like classes start in July for "Fall" start.

 

UCONN starts, once per year with only summer and fall classes, April 1 deadline also. Auburn has similar time-frames for their admissions. I think FAU is a little more flexible on admission time-frames, but out-of-state tuition is insanely high. If you want an AACSB MS in accountancy, looks like you'll have to be a little flexible on your starting time.

 

There are some accreditation issues going on at CSUS (AACSB), I would look into that before jumping into a program there.

No, actually I can't (right now)

If you google it, there is a public site the professors and adminsitration are coming up with a plan of what to do, what the issues are, and the consequences of what may happen.

 

I am not finding anything on a google search. Why can't you direct us to a PUBLIC site?

Has anyone else looked at this forum. There are only a few relevant posts and I'm not sure what to make out of this. So, does anyone have any more info or insight as to what AACSB issue there is at CSUS?

 

I checked out the forum that Han recommended too but I can't really make out what CSUS' AACSB problem is just by reading the posts.

I wonder how the "real AACSB review...in January or February of 2007" went? I imagine this California State University will get through this. Anyway, I have decided to get through an MBA first. By the time I'm ready, maybe this will all be sorted out. If not, there are other AACSB programs, just a little more expensive.
