    J. both you and Tom are correct.

The program is the DBA one that you described. (Too many things going all at once, or I am getting Alzheimer's, I don't know which):)

I have requested an information package from the university, so hopefully it will show up shortly. In the meantime if you could email me Dr. Burns's paper, I would be most grateful.

Thanks for the help and information.

I am glad to see you guys up and running again. I have been following the Deja forum for quite some time now, but I really haven't had much reason to post in the past. I am currently on online student at Montana State University-Billings and I enjoy reading all about the DL views and opinions. Thanks for all the great input and I hope you guys keep going.

    Dear all,

Good to see you are using Ultimate BB. A good choice and I suspect in not too long there will be a lot of traffic on the board. Although not as free as a newsgroup it is much more structured and then one. Best of luck, I'll be lurking in the background as I did on the AED group the last few years.

    Chip, Tom and Bill,

Thanks for the extra effort in getting me "on board". I appreciate it and am looking forward to this forum. Nicely done, all.

    Howdy Chip and Company!

Hey, is there any chance of getting the HTML feature turned on in the board? UBB is simple enough, but it is another syntax that only continues to scramble and flood my diminishing brain cells. :)

I'm sure that you wrestled with this as you set up the board initially. Just a wish ... HTML would be nice.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Chip,

Good work - although I'm still waiting for the advisory e-mail ..... perhaps I shouldn't hold my breath .....

Hopefully this can be as useful a forum as Peterson's No. and No.2 were many moons ago ....

    Cheers,

    Neil Hynd

    Good afternoon, Ron!

I tried to e-mail you off-line, but it appears the message was lost. I only have a hard copy of the paper by Dr. Burns, and I would be happy to FAX it if you can e-mail your FAX number to my [email protected] address. If you prefer, I can mail it to you. I could type the entire paper into Word and send it by e-mail, but that would be my last choice for obvious reasons.

Just let me know which method you would prefer, and I will get the paper to you.

Good luck in your search for the right program!

    Sincerely,

    James

glad to have John Bear tell me of this list, and looking forward to sharing my experiences in Distance (since 67) and fully online(since 95) with the rest of you. I have been most interested in peer-to-peer learning and post on Deos, E-Mod, H-Teach, DLDC, GLD, and others. Best to all, Guy

I'm here and open to all things MIGS or (hopefully) otherwise. Glad to be out of a.e.d. (which I abandoned some weeks ago).

Hello, I've been watching things here for a few days and decided to say hello. I work for a State Senator in New York and am actually finishing a BS from New York Institute of Technology online.

I am really here more to try and learn about degree mills.

thanks John for mentioning my name, and I look to learning much with this group. I am especially interested in how online learning (what I call Collaborative Online Learning Algorithm) for adults and members of the workforce will emerge as separate from the ongoing activities of traditional universities. I have fifty years behind me with "professing" in history and humanities and a great deal of distance learning experience in many parts of the world. Most of all I seek to interact with those who believe in and wish to foster learner and learning centered systems globally.

Just to update, the site still seems to be working pretty well.

PS -- did I set the record for thread necromancy ?

I believe that you have dug up the first post in the first thread ever made at degreeinfo. It doesn't go back further than that. It can be fun to go back and read through some of those old threads. Many of the same issues and even some of the same people.

It's interesting to note that the second-oldest thread at degreeinfo is about the accreditation status of Nations University.

(OK, not really -- but it seems plausible, doesn't it ?)

Holy thread necromancy  this is the mother of all threads, an 11-year old thread brought back from the great beyond. :trink26:

  20. I'm impressed. CalDog finally reached the end of the internet...well at least the beginning of Degreeinfo
