I have been looking for engineering programs for a while; I was looking at Cleveland Institute of Electronics, and Grantham University. I started looking into CIE and realized their associates degree in electronics technology is estimated to take almost 4 years, and the bachelor's would be 8 years. It looks like Grantham has a more reasonable 2 year program for an associates, and 4 years for a bachelor's degree. I am leaning towards Grantham University, more specifically their electronics program. Has anyone had any experience with Grantham? I would like to hear what you think of Grantham, anything on their engineering program would be great.
A. I would read the reviews and comments here about Grantham http://www.onlinedegreereviews.org/college/grantham-university/ B. An adjunct instructor I know taught for them for 1 semester and resigned. C. They are not ABET accredited which may be a roadblock down the road eventually. Just my $.02
If you are looking for DETC Electronics/Electrical Engineering; you should check out with the California National University at http://www.cnuas.edu.
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately most of the colleges in the angelfire link do not offer all of the courses required for the degree. A lot of colleges only require some of the classes that are required for the degree, and you are expected to take the rest at a different college. Grantham, and CIE are still the only two that seem like they would work.
I know plenty of military people going to Grantham right now. Either they succeed with them or the drop them. It is "either" "or". As a career counselor I give my warning speech about them being nationally accredited instead of regionally accredited. I also warn them about self-motivated, as this is a distance learning program. Think of the accreditation and the motivation of completing your courses. Either way, it is your decision. Grantham is a good school, especially if you need flexibility to get your homework done. I don't know much about CIE. Good luck in your educational pursuits!!!
Is there any reason for this? Do you have experience with either Grantham or CIE? The only thing I do not like about CIE is that it seems like it would take twice as long to complete the degree.
