    Hi all,

I have a lady interviewing for a position and I can’t find anything on her university. Is it a mill?

    “Buxton University, London England”

That’s all the info I have so far. I've research prior posts and it seems to be a little questionable. They don’t seem to have transcripts but they will bring contact info to the interview.

Any extra info would be appreciated.

    Oh no not again!

Actually, there was an interminable battle with shills from this utter tochusian joke quite some time back. No, Vonnell, there is no Santy Claus, not in Buxton. Your wariness is well-founded.

    vonnell,

Just out of curiosity, are you going to tell this applicant that you found out her degree was bogus? If you do, I'd love to know (just in general) her response . . .

BU is a total fake. It generated a most hilarious long thread here at DegreeInfo. Unfortuantely, the search function here is broken again.

    Our Federal Government Employment Process

I've asked them to bring thier info/transcripts to the upcoming interview. I called the local Human Resource Office and they said because the job doesnt require a degree I should ignore it. But, I can ask for documentation as long as I ask all applicants the same questions. It's a very low grade federal job but it could grow to a supervisory position in a few years. My big issue is the person's integrity.

Thanks for the info all, I love this sight and the knowledge it holds :) Stay tuned.

Well, good luck to you vonnell. I agree with you on your concerns over integrity -- whether the job requires a degree or not! I'll look forward to the next installment ;)

Me too. If they thought it was real, they're stupid. If they knew it was fake, they're crooks. Either way--untrustworthy. Go get 'em, Vonnell!

    Integrity 101

We fired her due to many issues, integrity was the main issue. I told my boss and HR at the beginning. Maybe they will pay more attention the next time, FLUSH…..NEXT!!!:D

You're not the first person to notice that there seems to be some kind of correlation between people using bogus degrees and people being dishonest. :)

Hi Vonell - I was just very excited to see that you also went to AIU. Did you go on campus or online? I graduated from the LA campus back in 1995 with a BFA in Photography and Graphic Design. Good to see another AIU alumni doing well. I have had to share with some people here that AIU is not as bad as some make it out to be (at least on campus).

    No Problems

    JonathanPerea,

I see the good and the bad comments about AIU, doesn't deter me to much. I'm also an adjunct instructor for the college here on base in a part time capacity. I'm shooting for GS-15 in the next 3-5 years I hope, I'm very ambitious. I’m a GS-13 currently.

I do hope AIU Online gets out of the mess they're in very soon. Have a good one.

    Thanks
    :)

There is an authentic school Buxton University, Derby in England. It is quite legit. Please do not cast aspersions on this legitimate school.

If you aren't shilling, you may be confusing the legitimate University of Derby, Buxton with the unaccredited and unchartered Buxton University.

Ignore a fraudulent lie. Yeah, that's the one I'd hire.

All I can say is the person I hired with a degree from Buxton University, Derby, could more than do the job. I needed extensive research regarding patents. And the job got done and done well. I have nothing to gain by "shilling".

All I can say is that there is no such institution as "Buxton University, Derby". If you believe otherwise, can you post a link to their home page?

It's true that there is a University of Derby, Buxton, which is quite legitimate. But there is also a Buxton University which is not. It is quite possible that the similarity in names, and the resulting potential for confusion, is deliberate.
