    Now comes Pennington University. http://www.penningtonu.com

University is accredited by the International College and School Accreditation Association (the ICSAA). You can visit their web site at www.icsaa.org.

Pennington University is affiliated with the University of NorthWest. Students of Pennington University can transfer credits from Pennington to Universtiy of NorthWest for degree credit.

Interesting. There is a legitimate "University of North-West" (UNW) in South Africa.

Pennington University was a Great Online University

I attended and graduated from this university some years ago with three of my friends.
I thought the University had closed. The course work was very extensive. I am glad that students can transfer their course work....

The first link was dead. The third sent me to an ad for bed linens. Perhaps Carrie and her three friends had their doctoral degrees in Home Economics?

Mill-Stuff, all of it. 11 years ago, poster PSalmon was right - there is a legit "North-West" in South Africa at North-West University - Choose your languages.

There is also still a highly illegitimate ISO-certified degree mill called University of North-West at .::University of NorthWest::. . I've always wondered what the ISO standards for a degree mill were - it seems several numb-skools have achieved them over the years and fly the ISO-9001 flag! The .ac in this case is a country code (Ascension Island) - not a Commonwealth university domain, which is usually also .ac

Unlike U. of Northwest, "Pennington" (also a mill) DOES appear to be dead -- since about 2002. Good thing!

Carrie and her friends? Now what kind of people re-open a thread 11 years old? Usually spammers.

John: The first US school with 9001 was the non-wonderful Newport University, whose then-owner, the Rev. Theron Dalton, wrote the standards. "First one through the door gets to do that," he told me. "I could write standards for cement life preservers, and as long as I made them to that standard, they'd be ISO approved."

Oh yeah - I know that school. Non-wonderful, all right! Recently changed its name to Janus University - and somehow took Newport's grandfathered .edu domain with it. Right... could desperately use a complete "rebuild," not just a name change and an extra head! I've been told the same person also founded Newport International U - controversial in a couple of states and several foreign lands. The NIU website looks like some kind of revival in the works. Oh, joy!

I hate that this school has closed. It was At online school.

Pennington? I LOVE the fact it's closed (2002). It was a degree mill, not a school.

I HATE the fact that "University of North West" (the other MILL - url above) is still open. How long will Pennington's equally ugly sister survive? As long as there are spammers in cyberspace, no doubt.

    BTW -

"Newport International University" - new website is under construction - welcome and "stay tuned" message by new head, Jay Askari. "Newport International U." site in UK is still operational and welcome message is by Rev. Theron Dalton, mentioned by Dr. Bear (above) as owner at one time of Newport University - the man who brought Newport up to ISO 9001 standards!

Looks like some synergy (or what's the evil word for that? ) between the old Newport (pre-Janus) and NIU - at least the UK uh...offering. The OLD NIU site and the pre-Janus Newport U. site were of very similar design, similar colours, coat-of-arms etc.

The Wiki indicates there was - some time back- a planned merger between Newport and Newport International. Dunno what, if anything, happened. Janus U. (former Newport) is still unaccredited. Plus ça change, etc.

In fairness - I forgot to say that, although Janus University is unaccredited, the school DOES have California BPPE permission.
