Thanks to "Moshe" (IUFS' salesman on AED) for this eyeopener:

It seems that North Central University has teamed up with the illustrious International University of Fundamental Studies to offer NCU degree programs in Russia.

    http://www.iufs.edu/

I guess that franchising is the hottest thing in DL these days. But selling a franchise to this splendid outfit, with all of their phony accreditation claims and unsavory associations, stinks like a turd.

My opinion of North Central University is plummeting dramatically.

Not a good idea at all. In IUFS web site, NCU is listed right above some bogus schools...!

I was also considering NCU PhD program...

    Nah! Fogget it!

NCU gets regional accreditation and then goes and affiliates themselves with schools lower than SCUPS.

Seriously - Are these people stupid??

NCU has just lost a lot of fans.

I guess I don't get it. A bogus russian degree mill operation puts a link on their home page to NCU. Does that really mean anthing at all? My only thought is that NCU has a referral program run by a third party.

Dave - we hope you are right.

IUFS seems to have a lot of schools on their website of which few would have any formal affiliation agreement, such as their teaching for University of London exams.

Alliliating with IUFS and American Coastline et al, outwardly looks like a death sentence.

This isn't a good move for NCU. Catching the ball and fumbling it two yards short of the goal line is just "down right" stupid!

NCU has too much at stake to take such a chance.

A Google search for "international university of fundamental studies" generated 242 hits, of which 65 were displayed. Among the highights:

    1. A questionable "credential evaluator", the National Academy of Higher Education's impressive list of clients:
    http://www.nahighered.org/Affiliations.htm

    2. Chief Swift Eagle's Accrediting.com has taken to accrediting Russian universities (including IUFS, of course):
    http://www.accrediting.com/russianuniversities.htm

    3. The 'Wannabe Universities' page from 'The Australian', which lists IUFS as a degree mill, along with Knightsbridge: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/sectionindex2/0,5746,degreemills%5e%5eTEXT,00.html

    4. Here's a questionable 'professional organization', apparently designed to give substance to a Google search. The International Center for Scientific Research:
    http://www.cirs.net/Pays/banners/english/Russia.htm

    5. Another "accreditor", EQAC, the Educational Quality Accrediting Commission:
    http://www.eqac.org/institutions.htm

    6. IUFS affiliate, 'The International University' http://www.tiu.org/accreditation.htm

    7. The spectacularly impressive bio of Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, The Most Rev. Patriarch Dr. Chief Alexander Swift Eagle Justice, D.D., Ph.D., J.D.-Theologian; Academician Russian International Academy of Science of Information, Communication, Control in Engineering, Nature, Society_ (AKA: Dr. Chief Swift Eagle) http://www.education-1.net/chancellor.htm

    8. Not only is American Coastline University "accredited" by the NBOE, it is also a branch campus of IUFS:
    http://www.amercoastuniv.edu/accredit.htm

    9. The colorful accreditation claims of Chief Swift Eagle's International Theological University, which include something called the "International University of Fundamental Studies Accrediting Association – St. Petersburg, Russia" (apparently IUFS is an "accreditor" as well as a "university")
    http://www.education-1.net/application.htm

    10. Another questionable professional organization, the World Scientific Association (they spelled Arthur C. Clark's name wrong). http://www.wsa-ru.org/

    11. Some kind of relationship with University of Northwest http://northwestuniversity.netfirms.com/studyc1.htm

    12. Page from American Coastline franchisee Al Qasim University in Pakistan, announcing that ACU is now a branch of the IUFS and "fully accredited" by the Russian Federation:
    http://www.aqu.edu.pk/university/a_about_us.htm

    13. IUFS affiliate Kingdom College of Natural Health: http://www.kcnh.org/catalogue/missionss.html

    14. Richard J. Hoyer's Global Capital attempting to solicit funding for some grandiose projects associated with IUFS. One of them involves opening a huge number of alternative medical clinics in China employing the "GKA System".
    http://www.globalcap.org/projects.htm

    15. Something calling itself the United Humanitarian Association soliciting funds for a natural healing hospital in St. Petersburg, associated with IUFS, among other things. (These seem to be the same projects that Hoyer's Global Capital is soliciting for.) The hospital is supposed to be dedicated to the "GKA system".
    http://www.uho.org.uk/projects.html

    16. Here's the peculiar State Duma Committee on Foreign Relations, which for some unfathomable reason seems to consist of the IUFS organization's proprietors (complete with photos and with the requisite spectacular bios).

The page includes this information of what the "GKA System" is:

    DR. Professor Hans J. Kempe, Ph.D., M.D., N.D.

The internationally renowned scientist, Professor Dr. Hans J. Kempe is the President of PRIME International AG, in Switzerland, a Research Institute of modulated energies in the field of biophysics.

He obtained a Doctor of Medicine in Immunology from IUFS... N.D. in
Naturopathy from Clayton College of Natural Health...

The discovery of the 62 frequencies as cell-building blocks and the decoding of the energetic hereditary substance formula (ME) C2 of organic matter, led him to the development and invention of the therapeutic GKA-System...

    http://www.stateduma.ru )

    17. Announcement of 'Ceylon Trading House' in St. Petersburg, no doubt the work of IUFS' Rector, Dr. Jayasekara Shanti Pushpakumara http://www.kvs.spb.ru/eng/news/001109.shtml

    18. IUFS mentioned in a page discussing academic study of classical antiquity in Russia, though the author didn't seem to know what to make of it.

I wonder if NCU has sought approval for this move from NCA? I know that NCA does require schools to submit a "change request" whenever they make significant changes in their operation or when they work with 3rd parties.

Now, to give the benefit of the doubt to NCU, not lets forget what happen one time with Dr. Bear's site, that said. This only a link to NCU site. NCU site provides and informs about any agreement or articulation with schools and college, I don't think they will like the bad press, and lose for what they have work so hard, I have not found any agreement with this University. However, I will bring this to their attention.

What is the iufs.edu all about. How can a Russian school have a .edu address? I thought it was an American address.

It's not just a link -- there's also a picture that purports to show NCU Dean, Prof. Mike R. Black, shaking hands over an agreement with IUFS Rector, Prof. Shanti P. Jayasdekara.

oxpecker: Still is a link, I can't attest this is Professor Mike Black in the picture, but I can tell he is not the Dean at NCU! Which brings me to call this to the Attention of NCU.

Here's an organization called Universities United that is engaged in marketing foreign education in China primarily, and also in Eastern Europe.

The vision, mission and goal for Universities United is to bring higher educational opportunities to Asian, and eastern European, countries by offering unique and comprehensive "connection" programs provided by fully accredited U.S. institutions of higher learning.

Dr. Julie Huang (originally from Taiwan) working in principal association with Dr. Michael R. Black (originally from New England) connects these U.S. educational resources to deliver these opportunities to Asian, and eastern European, facilities of higher learning.

    http://universitiesunited.com/united/

    NCU is prominently involved.

    http://universitiesunited.com/united/p1.html

A very special partnership exists between UU and Northcentral University [shown, above and below], of Prescott, Arizona. There, Professors Huang and Black hold administrative positions related to NCU's projected, rapid expansion into China, and elsewhere.

Hey Nova Southeastern is also included in this!

It could be that Swift Eagle's operation is looking for more legitimacy of its programs or is conning the RA institutions. Overall, this is a scary thing and it would sure be good to get NCU's take on this?

In the links provided I did not see anything showing NSU being involved. Do you have more info to share on this to demonstrate this involvement or am I missing something?

Nova doesn't seem to have anything to do with IUFS.

But University United's 'other universities' page says:

Very longstanding relationship has existed between Dr. Huang and Madonna University...

UU has contractual relationship with two more, nationally regarded universities -- Alliant International University (formerly, United States International University, and still nationally ranked), in San Diego, California, as well as rapidly building Lynn University, in South Florida.

Also located in South Florida is the rapidly expanding, and nationally ranked Nova Southeastern University. Universities United maintains a friendly relationship with a few of Nova's departments, and highly recommends its programs...

Dr. Black is a professor both at Madonna and at Nova.

So it doesn't sound as if Nova is formally a UU client either. But Black (the gentleman shown shaking hands with IUFS' Rector in NCU's name) teaches for Nova and is fond of the place.
