The ACICS will pick 5 schools to do a "Pioneer" project that will allow them to offer DBA.

    Link?

DETC next - right on schedule.

We have have caught glimpses of this coming. I believe DETC was planning for 2006 but this could pick up the pace.

This does seem to bode well for NA schools possibly awarding doctorates in the future. But "connecting the dots" to any great extent involves a whole lot of speculation. We'll see.

Isn't that the accreditor that had a principal with a milled doctorate?

    Hi Paul.

    Where did you hear this?

My gut tells me that if something like this was in the works, we'd be hearing screams of anguish. Doctorates separate professors from the riff-raff, they are a rite of passage. Lots of people have lots of emotional investment in their doctorates and would probably oppose any development that they feared might cheapen them.

I don't doubt that ACICS doctorates could happen. But I'd expect the proposal to generate more noise.
