Your link doesn't work. Why is this newsworthy, and what does it have to do with politics? People are executed all the time. A white student just murdered a Texas Tech police officer, and it made national news. Why no thread on that?

I don't understand what race has anything to do with any of this.

However, RIP to the fallen officers and good riddance to the murderers.

    FBI's UCR and racial tabulations

Maniac Craniac, the race-based issue has been studied to try and understand what race has to do with crime -- if anything at all. This writer believes that race (nature) is completely immaterial to crime origins; but socioeconomic and cultural issues (nurture) can be a strong determiner of predictive criminal activity. Anyway, starting in 1930, the FBI began tabulating and publishing the uniform crime report (UCR): Not all agencies provide ethnicity data, but most do. The FBI's UCR compiles all of that information from throughout the United States -- and it has become an important source of crime information for:
    - policymakers
    - scholars
    - law enforcement
    - and of course, the media

Here is a sample of race and the FBI's UCR:

That's one way to put it; more accurately, "race" is a set of arbitrary markers that is not "nature" in any real sense, let alone determinative for anything of substance, let alone behaviour. I could pounce on usage equating "race" with "nature" as inherently racist, but I assume here that you didn't mean it this way.

Hence, observation: the title "Black man executed for killing Alabama cop" does not convey useful information and seem to be designed to inflame passions on opposite fringes of political spectrum (both deplorables who'd presumably jump on "black man killed a cop" and "SJW"s for "black man executed"). Kind of what Russian trolls do on social media for pay. I'm not saying it's EFFECTIVE for this, particularly on this forum. I'm not sure what to make of this individual occurrence, but I do find it a remarkable coincidence.

So many do... but there's hope. Vigilink ad-pages ALL have a link-button that says "continue to USAToday.com" (or whatever site the article is on.) They make you look for it, though. In this case it's a biggish blue link right below the Wayfair logo. Sometimes I think half of all Internet time is spent dodging ads. Drives me crazy, sometimes.

Right. Officer Gordon's killing was indeed extremely tragic, but neither his race nor his killer's (both were black) has any bearing on the sad event.

It seems to me, the title might work - as Stanislav indicates - to inflame passions: primarily those of people of low intellect, vile nature and horrible judgment (racists). Those people can all go do that repugnant job on their own.

    Race

Johann, in the economy of the Lord Jesus Christ, race is immaterial because all people are the sons of Adam and all true Christians are Sons of God.

Mean again, I am not a Christian. You are - or so you have said many times. If race is immaterial in your faith, why are you so irritatingly specific about it, in the heading here? I think I know...
