OK Canadians, time to pay up. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/15/canada-first-nations-treaty-annuity-lawsuit?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark
Government dreading payment? Well, there's also this... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/sep/30/canada-first-nations-orthodontics-teenager Considering Mr. Trudeau's Federal Government has spent $110,000 in legal fees to avoid paying a First Nation girl's $6,000 dental bill, I shudder to think what they might pay lawyers to avoid payment on the Robinson Huron Treaty. If the payment is assessed at $100 million, by the same ratio, I wouldn't be surprised at over a BILLION spent trying to avoid payment on the Treaty. Yet the same Government shelled out $10.5 million to a single returning Canadian Omar Khadr, the "Guantanamo Kid," who killed US medic Christopher Speer. Reason given by Mr. Trudeau: to settle and save money that might have been spent fighting the case unsuccessfully, and ending up paying more. There's a time to fight and a time not to. I think our (Canadian) government sometimes gets it backwards. J.
