North Korea launched a missile over Japan, people are getting slaughtered on a daily basis in Chicago, Houston is underwater, but this is what the mainstream media is concerned with; https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/29/fashion/melania-trump-hurricane-harvey-heels-texas.html?mcubz=0 Journalism is D-E-A-D in the United States.
By this standard, it never was alive. "Hillary refuses to bake cookies", anyone? I agree, the article is exceptionally dump. But it makes people click on links, and is highly shareable on Facebook (just like Montenegro-produced fake news during the campaign). Sigh.
Alt.left disingenuous FAKE NEWS: it's not a secret anymore! The NYT and the rest of the alt.left MSM have devolved into the likes of the National Enquirer. However, the National Enquirer has more credibility in their headlines, as well as in the content of their stories. Americans are seeing more than ever before exactly what the paid-for script of the alt.left MSM is. There is no hiding it with attempts to appear credible. The secret is out: the alt.left MSM is disingenuous FAKE NEWS!
As Steve L. would say, you're comparing apples to moonrocks. Hillary's "cookies" comment was a slap in the face to the millions of women who decided to be stay-at-home moms instead of going for a career like she did. Melania Trump wore a pair of shoes.
Nope, it was a slap in the face of the media and political class relentlessly attacking Bill over Hillary's choice not to fulfill a Stepford ideal of a political spouse. It was also an unscripted response to one of the earliest bullshit "Clinton scandals"; the resulting shitstorm perfectly illustrates the fact that accusing her now of "lack of authenticity" is unfair and cruel. The public crucified her every time she dared to be herself, even just for a moment. Yet, she persevered (c) (TM). This she did. The nerve! :yikes: This was a dumb non-scandal. Sexist to boot. But it was a tiny fraction of what came Hillary's way ever since Bill became prominent (and, yeah, this includes glasses, haircuts, and pantsuits "outrages"). So, in a word, boo hoo.
Overall she looked better than usual. I liked the pants/jacket combo better than those foo-foo gowns. The shoes were ridiculous but , so what? She would have looked better in a pair of LLBean boots but she was probably born wearing heels, wouldn't know how to walk without 'em. She'd probably tear an Achilles. It was a stupid story
This is from the "Fashion and Style" section. It's not meant to be a news article and shouldn't be critiqued as such. Although I don't care about such things myself, I see no problem at all with this article being written or printed. For those that like this sort of thing, this is the sort of thing that they like.
