Given that one of the Trustees is Theodore Roosevelt IV (yes really), I won't hold my breath.

I posted this because of all the hoopla about statues in Southern burgs. Down Central Park West from the museum is Columbus Circle with its Columbus statue.

And who exactly is buried in Grant's Tomb?

George Washington was a slave owner. Where are the protests about his statutes in the United States?

Look at who are involved. It's not about racism but about deconstruction.

This is why you don't give in to a minority of radicals, it just emboldens them.

We should rename Washington DC as well. Can't wait till they show those Nazis what's up and start burning books. Although I'm not sure about the environmental impact of that tactic. Look at all the racist things Lincoln said, he's next IMHO. Wait until 2027 when all of the MLK files from the FBI are released. He'll be taken down post haste as well, sexist and misogynistic plagiarizers are not fondly remembered by our betters in ______ (Current Year).

This argument would be stronger if those sorts of statues were merely about remembering history . But they're not, they're about public veneration. That's why it's ideal to move them to museums or Confederate cemeteries, despite nascent conservative rhetoric about "ZOMG, book burners!!!!1!!!!!"

Because let's face it, if they were relocating a statue of Ted Kennedy to a less prominent place, very few of the people who are currently so protective about history would be complaining.

Where should the Lenin statue in Seattle be moved to?

I doubt they put up a statue of good ol' Ted. I mean a don't imagine a statue of a screaming and dying Mary Jo Kopechne slowly submerging in a canal while a drunk Kennedy slinks away from the car would be a big hit, but yeah I'll play along with you. Sure.

Despite my ROFLBBCOPTER statements, I don't care if they take all of the statues down. But, my questions to you then are this; Who decides which ones to take down? What is the benchmark? Everything before 1964? Only slave-owners? Only people who fought for the Confederacy? All white males?

And are you OK with moving statues of TR to a museum?

There's a D-Day memorial in Virginia that includes a bust of Stalin.
